Virgin Hotels Edinburgh

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. As soon as we saw the iconic red door, a friendly staff member welcomed us and guided us to the reception — a gesture that set the tone for our entire stay. The staff were consistently kind and attentive, making us feel truly cared for. Our room was absolutely stunning, with a breathtaking view of Edinburgh Castle right from our window. It was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed. One of the sweetest touches was the tiny robe provided for our 3-year-old son — such a thoughtful detail that made him feel special too! The bed was incredibly comfortable — truly divine — and we slept like royalty. The hotel’s location couldn’t be more perfect: right in the heart of the Royal Mile, surrounded by all the best spots Edinburgh has to offer. We will definitely stay here again. It was more than just a hotel — it was a memorable experience.

The best hotel in Edinburgh! The location is directly on Victoria street! The stafff is great (thanks to Martin and all the colleagues for their help and advice), the rooms are wonderful and the whole hotel is amazing. We will come back!

Brilliant stay— location, amenities, meals, staff were top notch! The doorman gave excellent advice and referrals for our touring adventures. Our room had a lovely terrace/balcony. We especially enjoyed the artist in residence; she was kind and talented (purchased a stunning piece for our home).

Room 229 has a very loud "jet engine" outside in the street, so loud you cannot sleep. The rooms are small for 5 stars, of a weird design where the bathroom is integrated into the room, and your partner has to sit on the bed while you shower, like being in prison... Our sink didn't work, but we were moved (because of the jet engine) and the new room had a broken telephone, so you are up and down to reception to organise valets etc. The carpet is a few inches all round the bed and you trip over it a lot, and the fridge has about 100 items in it, so many its ridiculous. This is a very expensive hotel, and the room is at best 3 stars, not 5 stars. The main hotel is ok, so as long as you don't need to use the room, then you are ok!
