Not worth the hype
We stayed here last night where my partner and I got engaged. The hotel and room were lovely. However unfortunately, the staff were really quite standoffish and seemed really inconvenienced by everything, which was surprising. The room service breakfast was awful so wouldn’t recommend that at all. Parking situation very inconvenient as well. When collecting our bags, I carried about 5 large heavy bags, there were several staff around looking and watching me struggle and not one of them offered to help; which again was surprising to say this is a 5 star hotel. Overall, won’t return, which is a shame as we will always remember this as our engagement venue. Very overrated.

Would definitely return to this hotel! highly recommended!
The staff are very nice and accommodating, our room was lovely and had a lot of space, breakfast was great. And the highlight for me was that the hotel as a small and cosy library with fire in the fireplace and comfortable sofas that you can just relax in! The hotel is located on Victoria St (some may say it's the inspiration for Diagon Alley from the harry potter books!) and is very close to everything! everything is in walking distance!

Best Hotel In Edinburgh
Location, Location. Location The Virgin Hotel is simply luxurious , quirky & eclectic & the best location to stay in Edinburgh . Located conveniently on cobble stoned Victoria Street we were within walking distance of everything we wanted to do . The Royal Mile & Edinburgh Castle are just around the corner & the historic Grassmarket at the end of the street . We stayed here for a week & the entire staff could not have been more friendly & helpful . Craig was especially kind & helpful . The room was perfect & no detail was overlooked down to the daily Caramel bars & sparkling water in the room . Our room was spacious , & lovely & was quite as a mouse It’s 5 stars for me & id give it more if I could .
