Worth the trip!

Truly enjoyed a wonderful week - thank you! The golf cart shuttles, the beautifully maintained property and amazing views of the area added to the experience. Food at Bar Traza was great and Bob’s Steakhouse is phenomenal.

Beautiful resort - if only I could have slept soundly each night

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I stayed at Omni la Costa for multiple nights as part of a convention. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained on the exterior with lots of lovely flora and fountains. The pools were clean and the hot tubs were hot and I could always find a towel. For being a sold out stay it was never really crowded anywhere. Rooms are super big (we were in a double queen room and it was so spacious inside we could have played full court pickleball had we brought a net) and the bathroom also had tons of floor space. Bed was comfortable and we had a Kcup coffee maker and small fridge in the room. Parking is not super convenient but easy to navigate to the room with luggage. There was construction going on in the building across from ours but workers were quiet and not in the way of the walkways or parking access. The Marketplace cafe was expensive but the food was good, mostly we just had coffee there in the morning and one lunch meal. We did eat at the steakhouse on site one night and the food was delicious. The Fitness center was great, ample machines and weights to choose from and not too crowded in the morning. My teens did not try the kids club or waterslides but they looked nice and others attending the convention said their kids had fun. We did not golf either but it appeared nice. However....I did not get a single good nights sleep the entire stay. The toilet in our room had a small leak somewhere and would run...loudly...about every hour to refill and it echoed horribly in the super spacious bathroom so woke me up multiple times. When alerted to the issue the first morning after management did send a maintenance person who "fixed" the problem The next night I woke up around 1 am to the sound of the toilet running again....and the very spacious bathroom flooded from the toilet to the sink with (clean) water. I jiggled the handle and stopped the water flow, mopped up the water with every towel we had. At first light (not ready to have a maintenance person in the room with my sleeping kiddos at 1 am if the water was stopped) I informed the management desk of the incident they sent out a maintenance person who now said the toilet was missing some grout and an internal part was installed backward. Took him about 45 min but he "fixed" it. Next night, back to short bursts of filling the toilet tank again....so no fix and no solid sleep for me. This building was supposedly renovated recently but apparently they got a bad toilet in the mix or the install in that room was less than ideal. Our whole stay the place was sold out so there was nowhere we could be moved to sleep in peace and they gave us a single $50 resort credit for our trouble. The only housekeeping we got the entire stay was the replacement of towels that I requested after our were used to mop up all the water that flooded the bathroom. The first day my teens had put the "do not disturb" sign on the door during the day so no service, but that evening it was removed and still no housekeeping the remainder of the stay. One tiny trash can for the entire bathroom and bedroom areas but we easily emptied it ourselves (there are many trash and recycling bins around the property). Would I come back here? Yes. I'm sure Omni has addressed the issue of the noisy toilet by now after the three calls for maintenance once we had checked out. This place is lovely I just have bad memories of multiple sleepless nights from our stay. My kiddos slept through the noise, guess I need to travel with earplugs or white noise machines in the future if we return.

A Fragrant Paradise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

My stay at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa was exceptional. Even though the basis for my stay was work related and I was unable to avail myself of the myriad amenities they offered, I can say the room, conference facilities, food & beverage catering, Vue restaurant, and Bar Traza and all related staff were excellent, bar none! I visited in late April to early May when the citrus trees were in bloom, and almost the entire property was awash with the heavenly smell of citrus blossoms. Birds of paradise were in full bloom everywhere, and all landscaping seemed to be maintained as well as the golf course. My room was upgraded to a suite at check-in, and it was elegantly and comfortably appointed, helping me better adjust to my time zone differential. I'd highly recommend the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa to anyone and everyone.

Mildew problem

The rooms smell really strongly of mildew, and the baseboards show sign of water damage. If this were a budget motel I'd be ok with it, but the rooms are so expensive to be so poorly maintained.

Failed on almost every level

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

There for a huge industry conference. Room wasn't available until after 7pm (you really didn't know how many were coming?) and ended up with a pull out couch for a bed - not enough adult rooms to go around. Two nights in a pull out was phenomenal on my back. The reservation was made 2.5/3 months in advance. Don't waste the money at this place.

Used the Edge adult pool for the first time. This really made the trip. I loved the view, the seating, the pool and the number of jacuzzis.
