Located on Piazza Ognissanti, right in the heart of the city center, The Westin Excelsior is only a short walk away from the famous Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, and Florence's most exciting activities and elegant boutiques. The Hotel has been refurbished in summer 2016. Florence, the capital of Tuscany, counts over 1.5 million inhabitants and is the most popular city of the region. Reviews for The Westin Excelsior Florence

Excellent location and comfortable rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The hotel is in an excellent location and easily walkable throughout the city center. We also enjoyed the rooftop restaurant for cocktails. Our room was clean, comfortable and very good size, but the bathrooms could use an update as the shower in ours was surprisingly small/narrow. Otherwise, a solid option for a stay in Florence and we'd stay there again! I also wanted to particularly thank Andrea the concierge! He was incredibly helpful in finding us a fantastic place to have cocktails with a view right in front of the Duomo and was able to get us a reservation (quite last minute) at a great restaurant in Florence that was our favorite meal of the trip. Thank you, Andrea!

Beautiful historic hotel

As a Marriott Ambassador Elite member, we often choose to stay in Marriott hotels when staying in cities during our European trips. The Westin Excelsior is a beautiful hotel originally build in 1500, renovated most recently in 2016. We stayed for 5 nights during our stay in Florence, touring the city as well as Chianti, Siena and The Mall during day trips. We were warmly greeted by each person we interacted with here; from the front desk, to the restaurant, to Daniele at the front door.....Daniele was truly a pleasure to see each time we entered and left! (This was a welcome change having arrived here from Lupaia, near Montepulciano. The service there, sadly lacked Italian warmth we've found everywhere else we've stayed in Italy). The Westin Excelsior Florence is easy walking distance to the important sites in Florence, but in a much quieter part of the city. This is a busy hotel. Most tables at breakfast are filled and our Suite Night Award request was unfortunately not honored. SE-STO bar had beautiful views of the city. We visited twice and recommend arriving early in the evening to be able to get a table....it gets very crowded here. ORVM bar was nice, and often quiet, in the late evenings after returning from dinner

We had the best hostess/waitress at the bar at the hotel in the Westin. She was so personable and professional, and knew English very well! And she was also funny and interactive with all of the customers. She should really be the manager spot on if you wanna pick her to be the manager then you are not thinking quickly she should be the manager!and her English and hospitality once again, was the highest quality

Great stay!

Vittoria at the front desk was great! Appreciated her great customer service. We messed up on our reservation and needed to stay an extra day. The hotel was almost sold out. She said she would leave a note with her manager to see what she could do to help. Her manager (sorry not sure on their name) kindly extended us at our discounted rate! It was so appreciated! Cute little terrace area as well!

Florence Family Vacation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

My family has been blessed to travel extensively internationally and just completed an 8 day stay at the Westin occupying 4 rooms. From the beginning of reservations to departure we all agreed this was the most professional and friendly hotel we have had the pleasure of visiting. From the reservation desk, front desk, concierge, housekeeping and various dining options, this was the finest hotel we have visited. We have stayed at the Westin previously and found the service and staff consistently outstanding. This was our 5th visit to Florence & we schedule our visits so we may stay at the Westin.
