Love everything about this hotel and services, only wish parking wouldn't be an extra charges, great breakfasts with eye popping selections that make you stay and eat more then you should

I was a little skeptical based on some previous reviews. However, loved everything during our stay. Beautiful historic hotel, awesome location, great room, service etc.

This is our second visit in less than two months and we enjoyed the stay at the Iconic Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof even more than before. This time around, we are more familiar with the property and were even recognized by the staff who welcomed us so warmly. The service level was unequalled and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. Our room this time was the junior suite which we were told is unique in this property due to its interior design. It was a very spacious living room, bedroom, walk in cupboards and a spacious bathroom. The view overlooking the courtyard was so lovely. It was so comfy, I could live here. The bed was so comfortable and we loved their oversized pillows. The bathtub was king size and definitely made for a long soothing relaxing bath. As we arrived late in the evening, we decided to dine at the hotel and we had a delightful meal at Oscar's. This was a definite good idea. We had the Wiener Schnitzel with cranberries, and a succulent potato and apple salad. We also had the Caesar salad with grilled shrimps which was a huge portion and it was excellent. We also went for a delicious breakfast and found that the selection of healthy dishes was unequalled. This was a joy. The team who welcomed us included Julia who is the most lovely person and she so happens to be the first female concierge in Europe. To us, she is also the greatest concierge in Europe. The location of the hotel proved itself again to be central and in the heart of everything. We were able to get in and out at all times and were able to get to eh autobahns within minutes. The Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof is superb and our stay was perfect.

We stayed here in March for a week in a junior suite - overall great experience and a true 5-star hotel. A few minor maintenance issues that you would expect for a historic hotel. This time we stayed for a couple of days in a deluxe king room, advertised as "spacious". The room felt tight, one desk chair and one arm chair. That was a little disappointing. The bathroom and bedroom are connected via 3-step stairs without any handrail - a safety concern, particularly for jet lagged travelers who get in the middle of night to go to the bathroom. Despite that we would have still given the hotel 5 stars if it were not for two staff interactions. While porters, valet service are simply great, the waitress at Oscars's is clearly not a people person to the extent of being flat out rude (it appears, to all guests). No eye contact, no smile, not welcoming. Second, when calling the front desk for our car at 6:45 am (we had a flight to catch), we were informed that valet services start at 7 am and that I should call again later. That's simply not acceptable. Again, the valet staff saved the day by retrieving the car in lightning speed, but at the from desk level this was a simple fail.

A grand hotel in the center of Frankfurt, close to shopping, restaurants, old town, train station and Opera. Our room was large, comfortable and quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant, Oscar's, has good selection of delicious food and wines and in the summer tables are set up in the front courtyard under big umbrellas to enjoy the warm weather. Wonderful place to stay in Frankfurt.
