We have been to over 10 hotels in Europe over the last couple of months. I would say this has been my favourite, with a few exceptions. I loved the style and class as you enter the foyer. Reception was perfect and the room was beautifully appointed. Tv had English stations and a great Bose radio. The bath was in the room with an ingenious way of closing it off if needed. And then comes the exception. As always the breakfast. We were happy to see it was a buffet and a menu offering. It wasn’t busy and we sat down with our juice and cereal. 45 minutes later we still didn’t have our cooked breakfast. The stressed and sweating maitre de apologised and said they were very busy. They weren’t. Eventually my pancakes came but they didn’t have syrup…. Really. I re ordered and it was very average. We complained and asked to have it removed from the bill. The other maitre de followed us out to the foyer to apologise. We said we hoped tomorrow would be better. It was better but not up the standard of the rest of the hotel. However I did enjoy my stay here. The problems we had were reflected in the bill and I would come back here anytime.

I had a comfortable stay with a pleasant upgrade and found the reception staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, breakfast was a let-down. I was seated at a table left messy by a previous guest, and no one reset it until I asked — reluctantly. My cooked breakfast then took almost 30 minutes to arrive, with staff explaining there was only one cook despite the hotel being busy. While staff were apologetic, the service felt disorganised and well below the standard expected from a hotel of this size. Overall, good reception and room comfort, but the breakfast experience needs significant improvement.

This is an outstanding hotel, truly 5 stars, probably should be 6 stars! The staff were fantastic, the location was the best possible, the room was tremendous with great facilities. The bathroom was great and extremely well laid out. Free minibar was also a plus. We dined at two restaurants which were in the hotel building but not owned by the hotel and they were both great. There is a steak restaurant and an Italian one called Alfio. Also five minutes walk is an another great restaurant called bidlabu which you must visit if you are in Frankfurt. This really is a sensational hotel.

From the minute my sister and I checked in until we checked out, the service was first class. We were surprised with a free upgrade from a junior suite to a prestige suite. The suite faced the park and was extremely large and comfortable. There was a separate bedroom and living room. There was a large bathroom (two separate sinks with lots of space for toiletries, separate shower, bathtub and toilet) and a second toilet by the entrance. There was plenty of space to work (two desks) and a very comfortable sofa and chairs. The beds were also really comfortable. Everything in the mini bar was complementary. Our room was cleaned twice day. All staff at the Sofitel were incredibly helpful and professional. Anne from the concierge helped me book train tickets to Heidelberg. When she saw me later in the day, she made a point of coming over to me to ask how everything went. There was a very friendly man who brought our luggage to our room. He greeted us every morning when we were in the lobby and always asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. The staff at the restaurant were also incredible! The maître d' in the morning (we were there over a weekend) remembered where we liked to sit each morning and brought us everything we needed. The breakfast includes a buffet and you could order a la carte as well. We had room service a couple of times. The food arrived quickly and the people who brought the food were so nice. I also can't say enough about the people who cleaned the rooms. They came twice a day and were so thorough. The staff at the front desk were also helpful and professional. The location was great! It was about a 15-20 minute walk to Romerberg, the Frankfurt Cathedral and Main river. It was a 2-5 minute walk to the opera house and Goethestrase (luxury boutiques). Train stations were also within a 5 minute walk. Tons of restaurants were also within a 5-10 minute walk. I would definitely stay at the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera again. I wish I remembered everyone's names who were so helpful and made our stay special. Thank you so much!

Absolutely wonderful stay at this property. It was a pity we were only here for one night as the service here was outstanding. The bell staff was extremely attentive and helped my family with luggage proactively even though we were a block away from the hotel. The food in the restaurant was exquisite. The management and front desk should be commended on a smooth check in with excellent recognition of Accor platinum benefits including an upgrade to a very large suite, stuffed animals for all our 3 kids, welcome drinks, a bottle of champagne, and several delicious desserts. The concierge came in clutch for some great local hidden restaurant gems (which we would never have known without their help) and coordinating smooth airport transfers. Housekeeping turn down service was a notch above the experiences I’ve had at other top calibre hotels. Overall the entire stay was very pleasant and I hope we can return in the future as my family is already asking when we can come back to the Sofitel Frankfurt.
