Worlds away at Wildflower Farms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We booked a last-minute stay at Wildflower Farms for Mother's Day weekend. My husband, one-year old daughter, and I arrived a couple of hours early to find that we had been upgraded and they could accommodate check-in right away -- what a pleasant surprise! They offer a welcome drink and a charming "wash away the drive" ceremony right as you check in, which is a nice way to kick off the stay. The main entry porch with fireplaces is striking, and really emphasizes the unique architecture of the property. Feels more Big Sur than Hudson Valley in the best way. We stayed in a Meadow Cottage which must have one of the nicer views on the property -- looking out from the cabin thnot another building in sight. For our cabin (46) the rear outdoor space seemed to be shared with the adjacent cabin, though I think it was vacant for our stay. I kept worrying we'd accidentally invade someone's privacy by seeing into their large glass door when we were outside. The room was impeccably decorated: mid-century inspired furniture, lime-washed walls, tasteful art and book selection. They include a little set of pruning shears and an empty bud vase so you can collect your own wildflowers on site during your stay. I love little details like this. For our baby, they had not only set up a crib, but also a diaper genie and infant insert for the bath. We immedately remarked "whoever plans this has kids of their own." Definitely a standout amongst 5-stars we've visited. The property is beautiful to explore, and they have some built in activities throughout each day. In the morning we fed the chickens and collected our own eggs, which you can either have prepared for you at the restaurant or bring home with you. In our May stay the property was just filled with beautiful wildflowers, though I assume that's par for the course given the property's name. There's a nice pool and spa setup though we did not make use of it, the pool did not seem to be heated so it was far too cold despite being unseasonably warm outside that day. The on-site restaurant Clay: excellent service quality, food is a little spiky. Their espresso drinks are really not good. Olive oil pancake is delicious, as are the burger and fries. For dinner, skip the hamachi crudo (bland), and the chicken pate, but do get the octopus with nduja and the bavette steak with slow cooked potatoes + tableside chimmichuri. Cocktails were also very good. Overall we had a really amazing stay and hope to return very soon!

Birthday Stay April 2024

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I just wanted to say how special this place made me feel. I came for my birthday and we were blown away from the second we arrived! Riley and Alexandra at the front were tremendous in helping us with our luggage and showing us to the room, and the heated floors in the room were phenomenal! We loved the view from our porch and the birthday treats were amazing! Joshua, our server, was knowledgeable, kind, and made great recommendations. Diego even came over to say hello! We woke up the next day and went on a walk around the beautiful property, and then ordered in room dining which Brooklyn brought right over. It was delicious, especially the sourdough bread and the cinnamon roll! Our spa treatments were amazing, Lisa and Emilia were phenomenal and so so nice! Stephanie, Taylor, Toni and Alyssa made everything seamless and answered all of our questions. We loved it so much, and we cannot wait to be back!

Breath of fresh air!

We had a really delightful stay in May. The grounds are spectacular, and really remind you of camp in all the good ways. The spa was outstanding and I'd highly recommend a trip there. Overall, I really enjoyed the walking paths on the grounds, including a trip down to the river and going to see the farm animals. Excellent service as well! All around I would definitely say this resort is worth a visit.
