Wonderful location, central to key locations. Gorgeous and clean. Stayed with family of 5 in an amazing suite that fit us all. Great breakfast and service. Highly recommend for visiting Genoa! Front desk very helpful with tips of where to go and restaurant recommendations.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel Bristol Palace. It is a charming older hotel that has been redone. It has a nice small bar that they pay attention to you the rooms are old school European meaning they are large with comfortable furnishings. The hotel is very centrally located And easy to navigate anywhere in the area. I had an excellent breakfast each day with many many choices. The staff was very nice. There’s a small restaurant with the terrace that serves a nice dinner and there’s a fabulous central staircase that is circular/spiral that goes up six stories. Just beautiful!! The staff has very good English as well. The hotel is not a far walk from the Home of Christopher Columbus And the main Duomo in Genoa.

Front desk was easy checkin and we were provided detailed description of places to see locally while visiting and info on the hotel. Location was perfect. I’m walking distance to many sites, shopping and restaurants. Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was good & plentiful. Would highly recommend staying here!

Spectacular historical hotel in the best location in Genoa. This hotel is a destination by itself. Great and clean room, amazing service and delicious breakfast. Highly recommend it for visits to Genoa. The dining room and the restaurant are real 5 star experience .

Nice hotel but bit of a mixed bag. This is a grand old place that reeks of splendour and in a wonderful location making exploring Genoa a breeze. The welcome when you arrive is special - suited bellboys whisking your bags away, and super friendly and helpful reception. The lobby itself is a wonder with THAT famous staircase which is an absolute wonder. All very good so far. Then when you dig a bit deeper a bit mixed. The Good and bad We had a triple room - nice high floor and ceilings. Super comfortable beds, great bathroom, even nice city views from room Nice room, water provided, temperature good (and air-con). Dressing gowns and slippers provided and something of a 'turn down' service too. But... for a supposed 5 star - room only had a kettle with sachet coffee and no milk, no coffee pod machine. Water provided for three, but nowhere near enough tea and coffee. Only two tea cups, two glasses etc... All seemed a bit half hearted. Breakfast was reasonable if included in room rate (basic buffet, nice juices, Prosecco etc). But no option for even freshly cooked eggs or omelette unless you paid over €10 on top of your room rate for the privilege... For me breakfast was no better than a Holiday Inn.... We ate one evening in the main restaurant for dinner - the food was excellent and prices very reasonable, but the service was slow and uninterested. We waited an AGE for our bill then an even longer age to pay for it. Almost like as the restaurant quietened down the waiting staff gave up. Again, not 5 star or even close. Another gripe - the hotel website boast terraces for dinner / bar / breakfast. Despite it being warm in Genoa we never saw them open. There is a hotel bar but it is claustrophobic, overly warm and not very comfortable (though the staff were very nice). We asked it there was a place to take our drinks outside. No - only on the terrace during dining hours, which closed quite early. And with the speed of the dining staff, we'd have been waiting forever for service. So if you think you can get back for a later evening drink and enjoy it on the terrace, forget it. We did enjoy the stay and most of the staff were extremely good. We slept well too, but it seems that some of the most basic things (room amenities, breakfast, bar, lounge) are a million miles away from five star. Still, can't fault the location... but a fancy staircase alone does not justify the room prices.
