Hotel Bristol Palace

Our room at the Bristol Palace was spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect, with easy walks to the sites in the historical quarter.

Beautiful hotel, great breakfast and friendly staff but completely let down by the room climate. The air conditioning is advertised as individually controlled, yet it’s simply switched off outside summer. My room was over 24°C with no way to cool it down. Opening the window isn’t an option due to heavy city noise and exhaust fumes. For this price range, such discomfort is unacceptable. A hotel that claims to offer air conditioning but doesn’t deliver is misleading guests. Not worth the money.

Spectacular lobby with such a distinctive stairwell that is said to have inspired Alfred Hitchcock to create the movie Vertigo. Gracious and attentive staff, and a calm respite from the crowds just outside. Sumptuous room with a spacious separate living room. Spectacularly-equipped with antique furniture, not one but two chandeliers, and a luxurious bathroom with standalone bidet. Comfortable bed and pillows, hardwood floors, area rugs, a large framed mirror inclined over the bed, and fluffy robes. An important downside for those who are chemically-sensitive or fragrance-sensitive: the rooms are powerfully scented. Fantastic location, in the heart of downtown and just steps away from the historic and maze like caruggia area.

Stayed here for 2 nights in October; beautiful Hotel - small entrance doesn't do it justice inside (great staircase!). Good breakfast choices, hot & cold, and a great location for walking easily to the Port front. Special mention to one of their friendly Doormen, I think his name was Davido, who gave us excellent travel advice (avoiding the expensive Taxi's) to get to/from Portofino - which we followed and had a great lunch in that pretty small fishing village. He was so helpful, and checked with us after how we found his directions. So much cheaper (& faster!) going by train from Genoa Brignole (a short 10 min walk from the Hotel) direct to Santa Margherita Ligure-Portofino & then catching a (regular departure) 10 minute small bus ride from the station straight into Portofino, which is a no-car zone. Would highly recommend this Hotel for comfort, service, and location.

The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring every aspect of our visit was seamless. Our room was beautifully spacious and comfortable, offering a perfect retreat. We thoroughly enjoyed the charming bar, where the talented barkeeper crafted excellent drinks. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, offering a generous and delicious selection to start the day. For an experience combining historical grandeur, prime location, and impeccable service, the Bristol Palace Hotel is an unparalleled choice. Highly recommended!
