I stayed in room 1219, top level - one of the supposed 'top of the range' suites. the room is spaceous and divided into two rooms with an ensuite and 2nd bathroom, very small kitchen w/ tea, kettle, sink and dishwasher. very simple for a suite. all in all, horribly underwhelming for the price. the bad: 1. broken window safety on level 12???, not great if youre travelling with small kids like i am, this is a lawsuit and potential FATAL Hazard waiting to happen. (re: Eric Clapton) picture attached. 2. Seinfeld-esque bright red light glaring into the room from their own stamford sign 24 hours a day... Kenny Rogers save me. solved by drawing curtains but then why advertise a view?? also.. you tried to upsell me to a better view for $75 a night, lol i can see why. 3. avoid weekends if you want to sleep. there are two clubs/pubs right outside that blast music which rattles the windows until 2am, one is situated in the hotel. even 12 floors up the thumping bass is felt. week days are nice and quiet though. 4. predatory micro-transactions: $25 a day to park in the hotel im already paying to stay at? the car park isnt even attached to the hotel so there is a bit of a treck through the "luxurious" urine and grafitti laced stairwell. $5 surcharge for room service? antiquated, silly and predatory. cheaper to uber your food to the hotel and park on the street. 5. matted and stained carpet, would not want to shine a UV light on it! (wear flip flops pls). picture attached of carpet at entrance to room... best foot first 6. sub-par bathroom... low water pressure (seriously... count how many flushes are needed) broken taps and degraded finishings. the good. 1. the view. 2. staff are kind of pleasant, but so am i when im working because salary is nice... 3. location. 4. beautiful exterior. the ugly: 1. the audacity to charge premium prices for this shadow/husk of a former good hotel.

Great Birthday Staycation

We had a fabulous experience in our 2-nights stay. Perfect view of the ocean and ferris wheel, cool breeze at the balcony and serene moment watching the sun sets in the horizon. We also enjoyed the pool, spa & sauna. Had great dinner at their restaurant - don’t miss the seafood tower. Woke up to a buffet breakfast over-looking the beach. You won’t feel guilty as you can surely enjoy a morning walk at the seaside after. Close to arcade beachouse too and won’t feel hungry as food shops are literally everywhere. Staff are friendly especially Kristine at the reception, she will look after you well, very friendly, patient and accommodating. She’s definitely a keeper. It was my husband’s birthday and they went beyond surprising us with chocolates and birthday card. Great experience we had indeed!

The perfect stay

We have just returned from a 4 night stay here, this was pretty much the perfect hotel! The view from the ocean view room on the 10th floor was amzing, overlooking the Jetty and the Ferris wheel. Sunset's were a real treat. You couldn't want a better location, with restaurants and cafe's nearby and the Tram stop at the door. The room was spacious, and the bed very comfortable, no complaints at all. We enjoyed the heated spa on level 2 on our last night, I'm sure the pool would be fantastic in summer too! It's such a rare treat to stay at a hotel that not only meets, but exceeds all your expectations, I couldn't fault this one at all!

My wife and I stayed at the Stamford Grand Glenelg for 2 nights this week to celebrate our 54 th wedding anniversary. When the staff heard about our special occasion we were treated like VIP’s. It was amazing. We will always remember our wonderful time at the Grand. Beautiful sea views from our balcony room, great food at the Promenade restaurant and brilliant service from the professional staff. A huge thank you to all the who looked after us.
