Lovely hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This is a lovely hotel, we've stayed at a few times now before an early morning flight out of Leon (20 min drive away, at 4am). The hotel grounds are beautiful, and the staff is mostly friendly. The rooms range in size, this time we did not get any upgrade as this hotel is no longer (Sadly) part of the Hyatt chain. We once had a room with it's own private patio, and two soaker tubs in 2 different bathrooms. THAT was amazing. This time we had a regular room with a tub and it was still very nice. We like the turn down service, and did not sure the spa or pools this time but they are available. My only complaint is they charge per cup of coffee used in the room. It's taky, and I wouldn't expect to get nickle-and-dimed like that in one of the most expensive hotels in town. The inroom coffee, if you decide to pay per pod, is a Nespresso.

Great place to stay.

Beautiful hotel with indoor pool and hot tub and spa and outdoor pool. Also has gym. Lovely spacious room, beautiful grounds, and restaurant on site. Weirdly empty. Not in the center of the old town, but quick taxi or 20 minute walk. Nice neighborhood.

Beautiful hotel

We stayed at this hotel twice in 2023, to be closer to the BJX airport for early morning flights. While there are hotels closer to that airport (this hotel is a 25 minute drive to it) but this hotel is too nice to pass up for some of the not-so-nice airport area hotels. Guanajanto downtown is beautiful, not to be missed! The rest of the town isn't anything to write home about, we have done multipe tours and I'd stick to the area Villa Maria Cristina is in, and dowtown only. Ok, so we are Hyatt Explorist status. Both times our room was upgraded, which was very nice. The larger suites are lovely, we had one with a private patio with a table and loungers as well as Two full bathrooms, each with a bath tub and separate showers. Heaven! Robes and slippers also were privided with the room. We also got a turndown service with a lovely locally made treat. The hotel is old, and has the feel of an older hotel that has been well maintinaed, we could hear the pipes in the walls. Not a big deal. This room was facing a view of the mountains, but also along the main road. It was noisy All night with traffic. Light sleepers should request a room off the main road. The second time we had a slightly smaller room, no patio and one bathroom with a soaker tub. The hotel has 2 small pools, one indoors, 1 outside. There is also a spa and sauna (we had to sign up in advance to use it). There is also at least 1 hot tub set outdoors, although it was cold and we had to wait about 30 minutes for it to get heated. There's multiple outdoor patios. There is also a weekend brunch with a DJ but we did not participate. There is a bar and restaurant on site, and the food and service was good. There are also several restaurants within walking distance (5-10 minutes), an OXXO, and a few nice cafe/coffee shops nearby. There is a Nespresso machine in the room, however they charge you for each coffee pod used. Some of these rooms go for upwards of $500 USD a night. I personally find it tacky to be charged for using the coffee in the room. Out of hundreded of hotels we've stayed in over the years this has Never happend, and I found it extreamly odd. Managers - please get rid of that, it is not customary and "cheapens" the overall feel of the hotel. The service was excellent both times we stayed here, the food was decent and setting beautiful. We'll be back!

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful city.

This is a beautiful hotel, the staff excellent and attentive, and the room lovely. Our room was large and the bed comfortable. Everything was immaculate. The continental breakfast, fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, fresh juice, breads, and coffee was a perfect way to start the day. We didn’t use the pool but did sit outside in one of the many seating areas often. The walk into town was about 20 minutes and we took an Uber back at night.

Most amazing hotel in Guanajuato!!

Beautiful hotel outside tourist area with easy walking distance to center of town. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. Amenities included L’Occitane products, flip flops, slippers, thick robes, and nespresso coffee machine. Beds were comfortable with soft sheets and thick pillows. The staff was amazing in every way and accommodated all of our requests. The restaurant has a beautiful menu which we enjoyed by the pool and for breakfast in the courtyard. Ohhhhh… and the spa! Steam, sauna, hot tub, pool and full menu of treatments. We enjoyed it so much we are coming back in a few days as we return from San Miguel de Allende.
