Reviews for Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa

A magical stay in a Maldivian paradise! Get dive certified while you are here.

My husband and I visited the Park Hyatt Hadahaa at the end of February into early March. We had a GREAT time. Diving- 5/5 We are new divers (never touched scuba equipment in our lives) and took the PADI course online prior to arrival. Dani was very helpful in getting us set up prior to arrival. Then when we arrived, we went to work with Ahmed which was incredible. He followed the PADI curriculum while also providing his vast expertise and we completed the training and did an additional five dives. It's an experience I never thought I would do but I'm so glad I did it. Maldives is a great place to do it because of the calm and clear water and Hadahaa has a great reef with many nearby dive sites. Having spent most of my life spending summers on the Atlantic, I can't believe what a world I have been missing under the sea. If you can, request Ahmed to dive with... however, if he's booked or away, we had a great experience with all the dive instructors so you can't go wrong. We also did snorkeling (5/5!!) and stand up paddle (5/5, you can see reef from standing and it's not too challenging since the sea is calm). Accommodations: 5/5 The premises are beautiful. Quiet and surrounded by water with reef you can snorkel and beaches you can walk on. We spent half our time in a beach villa and half our time in an over water villa (both with pools). The beach villas are shaded and private which gives a nice respite from the sun. However, the over water villa is incredible, with sunset views that are out of this world. Both are great choices. Housekeeping are great. They are kind and efficient and added a personalized touch with each clean. Food - 4/5 (only because it's expensive! But otherwise would be 5/5 for taste and service) The food, like in all of Maldives, is expensive. Our favorite is the breakfast but all the meals are generally pretty good! We didn't try any of the restaurants beyond the main dining room and bar. We loved the wait staff. James at the bar surprised us with a couple killer cocktails and a fun, positive attitude. Spa - 5/5 Linda with the massage! She is the trapezius whisperer. We actually experienced a few massages and every single one was amazing but I had to give a shout out to Linda. Asha was also top notch!!! Vibes -5/5 Everyone is happy to be here and is kind. Our private "host" was Eid and he was a great guide to our stay. He made us feel comfortable and accommodated at all times. If you want a peaceful, luxurious getaway, you won't regret coming here.

A wonderfully intimate island with impeccable service

First of all it is a long journey (plane and boat from Male) to Hadahaa but I would argue it is well worth it! The island is small and intimate but everything down to the last detail is so thoughtfully designed. Each space has been considered so carefully and created such that you wouldn’t know any of the villas are there it is so in keeping with the natural environment. It is small and there are only 51 villas but you never feel any space ever gets crowded. The reef is wonderful with bright coral, teaming with fish, turtles and dolphins. The food is wonderful. They have an extensive menu in the dining room which is all excellent but there are at least 3 other places to dine. The Bar food is great but the star of the show is Koi. We were lucky enough to be there for Chinese New Year and they had flown in a Michelin star chef from Beijing. All food was incredible and the service impeccable. The lobster and prawns in the beach BBQ are quite possibly the best things I’ve ever tasted! The villas are beautifully designed and very spacious. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. Excursions are quite expensive but you can get snorkelling equipment for free and there are a number of complimentary activities running all week. Highly recommended the sunrise yoga and the house tour which takes you behind the scenes to see the heart of the island where the staff stay and work running an impressive sustainable effort. We were all inclusive but it might be worth not including lunch as breakfast is good and dinner is 4 courses. You can always get food in the bar if needed. All in all we had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

Dive into Paradise

My wife and I stayed at the Park Hyatt at Hadahaa for 8 nights at the end of February into early March. We had a wonderful time. The island is beautiful and serene, the house reef is easy and fun to snorkel, the food is good albeit expensive, and the accomodations are comfortable and well thought out. Where the Park Hyatt really shines though is the service and the staff. Everyone is pleasant, friendly, helpful, and happy to be there. You can tell that they all take real pride in extending warm hospitality to guests and making them feel at home. In my opinion no one exemplifies this level of care and service more than Ahmed in the Blue Journeys dive shop. My wife and I had never gone scuba diving before and we were interested in getting certified and to go diving while in the Maldives. Ahmed loves to dive and loves his job and that passion and skill came through in every training session he had with us. He was incredibly patient, kind, knowledgeable, and thoughtful about his approach to teaching the course to us. With his guidance we completed the course and got to go on a few open water dives with him during our trip. If you think snorkeling is fun, you'll absolutely love diving. There is so much more to see underwater than you can even begin to appreciate just snorkeling on the surface. Diving opens up a whole new world to you that I never even knew existed. I think coming to the Maldives and not diving is honestly a missed opportunity to see something incredible. Again my wife and I had never done scuba before Ahmed taught us so we were beyond novice level but you can learn this skill during your trip and really expand your vacation. I highly recommend it to everyone who is physically able and at all interested. You will not regret it. And do yourself a favor and ask for Ahmed to do your training or to go dive with you if you are already trained. He is such a wonderful person with such a big heart and a true love for the ocean. His pure spirit and bright attitude are absolutely infectious. He's a true asset to the Park Hyatt team and my wife and I would literally come all the way back here just to dive with Ahmed again.

Beautiful with blemishes

5th trip to the maldives and 1st time at the Park hyatt Accessibility and time is a challenge here. We arrived at Male airport 1130am, waited for 4pm domestic flight that was delayed to 5pm. Then a speedboat to Hadaaya. Arrived 830pm in the dark and exhausted We booked the beach villa for 2 nights, then the water villa for another 2 The beach villa is medium sized and had “le labo” toiletries. I use le labo at home and the purple ooze that comes out of the “le lebo” bottles is not le labo. This bait and switch at a Park hyatt is a no no. The bathroom shower fixture was also faulty Had 4 dinners and short description here: - Island grill, western and steak place. Most appetisers are set at $30 and steaks are about $100. The steaks are not good for that price point. $200 per pax - Koi, psuedo japanese restaurant. Fusion food mostly, and while expectedly overpriced, they gave us some complimentary dishes. $200 per pax - Asian bbq buffet by the beach. A simple buffet and the only highlight was the beef being better than Island grill. $300 per pax - Treehouse, a private experience at a treehouse. It was crazy hot, but the food was the best of the lot, though this is not saying much. $300 per pax. Dinners/meals at Maldives is always a ransom situation, but the 3 michelin prices across the board is hard to stomach. Understand most food are imported, but they should charge significantly less for local items Breakfast is significantly better than the dinners in terms of the food Lunch and descriptions here: - Main restaurant and minimum is $30 for a soup. The “laksa” was a tiny portion, i finished the noodles in 3 bites. The soup wasn’t even real laksa - Bar had better lunch - tuna and beef burgers were acceptable. $30 each of course We went for the Turtle quest, that was good and we saw like 10 of them, plus stingrays and eagle rays. Then the next day we asked about kayaking and the staff were strangely evasive. Is it possible to kayak during a red flag day, or wait till green/yellow? What were other guests’ experiences? They couldn’t say The Water villa to us was better than the Beach villa. Better layout, real le labo toiletries, better shower fixtures and you can snorkle off the villa One day we sent clothes for laundry and it didn’t return till the next day. Lucky we were still at the hotel A nice resort with quite a few dings 7/10

Spectacular 6 nights at Park Hyatt Hadahaa

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Park Hyatt Maldives! Stayed a total of 6 nights; 3 nights at the beach villa and another 3 at the overwater bungalows, and it was a spectacular first time at Maldives for the both of us! It was clean, BEAUTIFUL, and very intimate due to the small size of Hadahaa. Feels like we were on a private island during our many morning and evening strolls. The 360 house reef were amazing with plenty of fish, sharks(!!!), and even caught a glimpse of a small turtle! There were an incredible number of baby blacktip reef sharks by the bridge to the overwater villas especially in the morning and evening, presumably their breakfast and dinner times! Shoutout to Akhmed and Naja who took us on several dives including the tiger shark dives! They were calm, collected, and chill as heck, and we loved their company. We felt extremely safe during our tiger shark dive and will not hesitate to join them on our future dives at Park Hyatt. Special shoutout to Avnish Raj, the F&B manager on the property. He made us feel very comfortable and right at home. He took special attention and care on the day I did not feel well, and I truly appreciate his care and service. He is also extremely hardworking; we see him running around from morning till evening helping out other staff members, moving chairs and tables, and yet still find the time to speak with guests and remember what they liked/disliked. Park Hyatt Hadahaa is truly lucky to have Avnish as one of their managers! All the staff members at Park Hyatt were very kind and attentive as well, and I regret not jotting their names down as they were all amazing and friendly. Can’t miss our butlers Suki and Thinn who helped organized and reserve many of our meals and directed us where to go when we were lost! They were very attentive to our needs, punctual, and above all, had impeccable service.
