I was at the Ritz for a work function. As might be expected, the views from the property are stunning! I don’t golf, but the course is beautiful (and looks challenging). While the hotel itself is a little tired, it is undergoing a major renovation, which is scheduled to be completed soon. What really stood out and leads to the 5 stars is the incredible staff. We had a few hiccups (related to the renovation) and Aziz, Faith and Clodagh went above and beyond to not only address the hiccups, but took great care of our entire group. Issues sometimes arise and what matters is how they are addressed. The staff and Ritz more than addressed our issues. As for food, our working breakfasts and lunches were great and the food at the Navio restaurant was phenomenal. I will definitely visit the Ritz at Half Moon Bay again with my family and would hold a work function here as well.

Gorgeous property, with top notch service. Room was great, grounds are impeccable, gym is good, indoor pool locker area is good, and the food was good. I had a nice view of the ocean from my room, really comfortable bed and enormous bathroom.

Absolutely wonderful property and staff. The golf course next door is also wonderful. The rooms are very nice although I was offered an upgrade and paid for it only to find out it was an accessible room and the bathroom to share with my wife becomes a lot more uncomfortable. My kids had the adjoining room and their bathroom was wonderful. We had the lower floor with a balcony and fire pit and the view is amazing. I really liked the hotel. Had dinner there twice and I wished they had a little larger menu but it was still enough and truly delicious, although like everything in the hotel it is quite pricey.

Classy hotel feels more like a mansion than your typical tall building with elevator banks. Not sure how many rooms but we’ve stayed a few times here and the best rooms are the ones with the outdoor fire pit. Restaurants are ok but the main attraction is the golf courses. There’s 2 courses and they’re both really nice. Not quite Pebble Beach but there’s a few holes hugging the coast and it’s very picturesque.

My husband and I stayed decided to have a staycation at the RC Half Moon Bay. We left disappointed with the property. It felt chaotic, not at all a restful retreat because it is a popular hiking spot for locals to bring their families, so there were strollers and a lot of dogs (like someone else mentioned). The rooms are fine, what you’d expect for a higher end Marriott, just didn’t get a wow factor as I had experienced at other hotels. Our Marriott status allowed us to be upgraded to a coastal view room which is essentially an ocean front room. We stayed in the main building and so happy we chose to. If you stay in the guest house, you are a five minute walk from the main building. The guest house has guest room doors that lead outside, similar to a residence inn. This is also where guests who bring dogs stay. The pool is also here. The pool is old and run down. Very disappointed with the facility. It is shared with the home community in the neighborhood. Also, there is a gym is upstairs, but RC guests can’t use that gym. The RC gym is in the main building and it’s quite small, but there was rarely anyone working out. On a positive note, the staff is outstanding. The valet, front desk, restaurant staff all were wonderful.
