Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi

Just had the best evening in the Bamboo Bar, for Cocktails and refreshments. Hang, Dunz, Duc - her fabulous team - made sure we had the most charming experience- friendly efficient service, generous hospitality, lovely wines and snacks and overall, fantastic care! The Sofitel Metropole is a gorgeous hotel, and time in the Bamboo Bar is time well spent.

This is top 5 hotels I've stayed at throughout the years. Every aspect of this hotel is beautiful. The rooms are thoughtfully designed with high quality fixtures, the bed is supremely comfortable, the outlook to the courtyard from the room so lovely during the day and evening with the lights on the lawn area. I had communicated quite a bit with front desk before arrival and we were upgraded through my Accor Explorer/ Gold membership to a larger room which was very comfortable. The food is exceptional from the buffet style breakfast, yummy egg coffees, dinner, cocktails, Michelin star restaurant, the service everywhere is of a very high standard, every aspect of this hotel is exceptional. The pool area is so beautifully presented every day with comfy sunbeds, plenty of towels, good service and a relaxed outdoor bar and cafe area. The gym while small has everything you need for a decent workout. The location is excellent for exploring the city. The tour is also worth mentioning as it gives you a good history lesson on the hotel and what the hotel has been through. We loved this hotel and if I was ever in Hanoi again I would absolutely stay here. Already recommending to our friends as it was the highlight of our Vietnam trip. I can’t give enough kudos to the Metropole and its staff. Let’s start with the staff. They are the friendliest and most helpful of any hotel we’ve ever visited. They answered every inquiry and went out of their way to make us feel appreciated. When we couldn’t locate our guide which we had booked from an outside agent, the receptionist dialed the agency and communicated with them to locate our guide. The restaurant staff is equally friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is amazing including both regional and local options. The breakfast Pho bar was a real winner. Upon our arrival at 11:00PM after a Long day of travel, we were told we’d been upgraded to a suite! The butler accompanied us to our room and answered all our questions. My wife used the spa for a facial and was very impressed. Staff excellent as well as the facial. The location is excellent with the Hoan Kiem Lake and Old Temple a short walk away. Hotel is incredibly clean and the pool is also wonderfully located in the central courtyard. We took the historical tour of the hotel, including bomb shelter which provides great information on the 125 year history of the hotel. I’d highly recommend the Metropole for your stay in Hanoi.

From start to end of my stay this place had exceptional in service. I booked an OPERA WING, GRAND PREMIUM ROOM WITH CLUB LOUNGE BENEFITS, KING BED. The service level was amazing, from the personal greeting by your Butler to the ability to just message on whatsapp for anything you needed throughout your stay. The ladies in the club lounge were simply wonderful, im sorry i cant remember their names but all of them were exceptionally attentive, they even remembered what i liked to drink and when i returned for my second stay they even remembered me then, they were by far outstanding and i hope they get recognised frequently for this! I would very much recommend this hotel and recommend upgrading for club access. I should also add the pool area and newly renovated pool bar were also wonderful, just a shame i didn't get to enjoy it more as the weather was a little on the rainy side.# I will defo come back to this hotel when i visit Hanoi again.
