We’re located on the waterfront and just a few minutes of a walk from the Helsinki city center. Our hotel offers three types of rooms guests rooms, suites and executive rooms. The suites boast panoramic sea views from the balcony, while the executive rooms offer access to the Executive Lounge featuring free breakfast and refreshments. Our stay was only for one night as we were catching the ferry to Tallinn the next day; therefore, we only had limited time in Helsinki. We picked the Hilton due to our Gold Status and the Executive Lounge. We opted for the King Executive Room with a Sea View, and I'm not quite sure which sea we were looking at, but the view was okay, accompanied by the standard Hilton comfortable bed. Executive lounges at Hilton's can be hit and miss, and sadly, this one was a miss. When we arrived at the Hotel, we took a look at the lounge, and unfortunately, it was in a mess. There were empty glasses, cups and McDonald's takeaway packaging left on tables. The evening offering was limited, and the lounge became busy. We didn't eat in the lounge, but we had a couple of drinks before going out to eat at a restaurant outside the hotel. The member of staff in the lounge during our stay was excellent, and on leaving, we gave them a tip as a thank you. However, the staff in the bar were great, and the cost of a bottle of wine and beer was not as expensive as we had been led to believe. The other positive was the location, which was pretty central and only a 30-minute taxi ride from the airport. The hotel offers a gym and an indoor pool, but unfortunately, we didn't have time to use them. All in all, we were not blown away by the hotel, but it did what it promised, with a central location with a comfortable bed for the night.

This was a great hotel - we turned up very early (after 24 hours of travelling from Australia) and were lucky enough to have access to our room early, at a cheap per-additional-hour rate. The staff were friendly, helpful and the room was great too. Location was an easy walk to the main sights and I would recommend this as a wonderful place to stay. There was a supermarket close too, for stocking up on snacks, which is always helpful!

I travelled to Helsinki for work and stayed at Hilton Strand. The room was clean and comfortable, good Wi-Fi connection in the hotel. The staff were friendly and provided necessary assistance. The breakfast offering was great too including the drinks in the Executive lounge. Wonderful stay, thank you.

We stayed on three separate occasions and each time, I received commonplace benefits as a Hilton Honors Diamond member: Executive Lounge access and complimentary breakfast. Pre-stay emails were answered promptly as usual. Each time we were allocated rooms with sea views as requested. On our last stay we were given a King room on the fifth floor. I was told that it was the only room type available, as they were fully booked. Checking online, however, I found that there were in fact some suites up for grabs. The room was of average size with a medium sized television and a sofa bed which was not needed and faced away from the view. The bathroom had the old shower/bath combo. The Executive Lounge is of standard size. In the evening, from 18:00 until 20:00 there is an unexceptional supply of canapes and a horribly limited choice of red and white wine, spirits and beer. During the day there are hardly any snacks. Breakfast in the restaurant was okay but nothing to write home about. The location isn't bad if you enjoy having a look-see by foot. Central Station is about a fifteen minute walk away. All things considered: it’s not good value for money.

Excellent one night stay for our anniversary, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome and celebrated. So much so that we have booked back in to this hotel to stay two more nights before leaving Finland next week! Looking forward to being back.
