Lovely stay, but need to get the basics right, mixed staff experiences.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We stayed in a Park Deluxe King, pool level with mini terrace, for 5nts, lovely decor, super clean, very nice indeed. So much of this hotel is beautiful, staff on the whole are very attentive and polite, presumably a high recruitment standard overall. Fantastic location, beautiful lobby and common area flowers, a real treat. Big tip, avail the hotel limo pick up and fast track immigration for arrivals, it’s a lovely welcome, especially when you see the queues you bypass, expensive, but worth it. Big tip II, don’t avail the hotel limo pick and fast track for departures, exit immigration queue’s were short, get a Grab taxi car, spend the saved money on a nice restaurant dinner for when you get home. My wife and I give our stay an 7.5/10, which would have been higher but for a few observations and a specific negative experience. Upon arrival we were taken directly to reception, they seemed in a hurry to book us in and escort us to our room. Personally I would have preferred a few minutes in the lobby, shown the beautiful lounge, this is where you can get a cocktail, breakfast is held over here, is this your first time at our hotel etc. all felt a bit rushed, wrong management priorities perhaps? We were given a cot for our 9 month old baby, which was dirty (grubby) on all top sides undoubtedly where other young hands had held onto them. Also the side mesh looked dirty, never cleaned. A simple hand held steam clean after each use would have been our expectation. We returned it unused. The room phones seemed dated and over complicated, why do phones in 2026 need us to pick a line, select the required department, then with or without speaker? Terrible. The room wall aircon control despite being digital appeared dated, was unresponsive, required multiple instructions for a simple temperature change, investment required here? I had a specific question and concern around our return car and fast track arrangements, the reception Duty Manager was entirely unsympathetic, didn’t explain himself at all, very poor communication skills, with his summary response seeming to be ‘well, you could always cancel it’! I expected better. During a breakfast buffet held in the Opera Restaurant, not all staff were smiles and welcoming, a particular western chef dressed in all black, gave a very patronising up down gaze towards my wife, which had I have seen or been told at the time, would have prompted a conversation, very upsetting, especially on her birthday!

Colonial Charm in the heart of Saigon

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Completed a three night stay right after Tet with my family. The property was fully booked, so we didn't get any upgrades as a Globalist. The property itself is gorgeous and very conveniently located. The rooms could use an update, but still functional and has a lot of charm. Our only real complaint was at breakfast on the first morning where it was pure chaos with terrible service. Food quality was excellent, however, from breakfast, dinner, to room service--all exceeded expectations. What really surprised us was the immediate and overwhelming response from management after our breakfast experience, which showed how seriously they regarded the guest experience. We had stayed at other Hyatt properties where they made each guest feel special--creating a personal and memorable experience. This property did not have that magic, but the unsolicited inquiry from management showed their sensitivity and I'm certain under different circumstances, we would have had an entirely different experience.

Preparing for Tet Arrival

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My wife and I stayed at the Park Hyatt Saigon in February 2026. This was our first trip to Asia, and our first stop was in Saigon/HCMC. We knew that we were going to be arriving during Tet, so we weren't sure if restaurants would be open. All of this is to say, that out an abundance of caution, we picked a large American chain hotel to stay, where we knew in a pinch that we could either find places to eat, be directed to those that were (in our native language (English)). Shortly after arrival, we realized that our concerns were way overblown. If given a choice, we generally prefer boutique hotels. However, this one was so beautiful, that I was glad that we made the decision that we did. The location was fantastic and the staff were warm and friendly. Whenever we had a break in our day, typically we'd head back to the hotel and lounge poolside in one of the private cabanas (if available) and regale ourselves before dinner. Objectively, I can't think of anything I'd change about the hotel or our experience there.

Park Hyatt Saigon

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My experience at Park Hyatt Saigon has been truly exceptional. The property is in a prime location in District 1 and is great condition. As a consistent traveler, my standards are high — and I was absolutely blown away by the exemplary service and seamless experience from start to finish. I arrived in Ho Chi Minh City late at night (my first time in Vietnam) after a 25+ hour journey. From the moment we arrived, I felt completely at ease. I must give special recognition to Ms. Thu at Reception and her colleague who assisted me upon arrival and throughout my stay. Any questions or concerns I had were immediately resolved with warmth, professionalism, and genuine kindness. I would also like to highlight Mr. Minh at Concierge, who has been outstanding. He went above and beyond to ensure my travel and cultural experiences in Ho Chi Minh City were seamless — arranging transport to other towns at short notice and was nothing short of thoughtful, diligent, and the consummate professional throughout. Because of these individuals and the broader team’s fantastic efforts, I chose to book the Hyatt again when returning to Ho Chi Minh City a few days later. My decision to return was purely due to the exceptional service they provided.
