Great Hotel for First Time Vietnam Visits or Business.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

Having been to Vietnam a few times now and stayed at a few different hotels this hotel is very clean and is located centrally in D1. The rooms are very clean and the service is as expected in Vietnam, superb. The one thing I did have an issue with is the noise from the local disco. If you are a light sleeper and staying over a weekend ask about which side of the building to be on. Not the hotels fault.

Sofitel Saigon Plaza – A Stay That Blends Luxury, Warmth, and Unique Experiences

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Our recent stay at Sofitel Saigon Plaza in Ho Chi Minh City was marked by thoughtful service, refined comfort, and a few delightful surprises. We stayed in one of the hotel's suites, which was spacious, quiet, and well-appointed — the perfect place to unwind after exploring the city. While the view from our suite wasn't awe-inspiring, the comfort and attention to detail inside made up for it. The bed was incredibly cozy, and the room had all the amenities you'd expect from a five-star hotel. The breakfast at Mezz Restaurant deserves special mention — it was simply excellent. There was a wide variety of fresh, flavorful options ranging from traditional Vietnamese dishes (the pho was outstanding) to European classics like perfectly baked croissants and an array of cheeses, fruits, and made-to-order eggs. It was a pleasure to linger there each morning, enjoying the calm ambiance and attentive service. Speaking of service, the staff throughout the hotel were a true highlight. Every team member we encountered was polite, professional, and eager to help. From check-in to housekeeping to the restaurant team, a genuine warmth made us feel genuinely welcome. A standout experience — and a completely unexpected gem — was my visit to House of Barbaard – Bar, Barbershop & Boutique, located within the hotel. This isn't your average hotel amenity. It starts with a welcome drink served at a stylish bar within the barbershop, setting the tone for a truly luxurious grooming experience. The shave was meticulous, relaxing, and performed with great care in an atmosphere that blended old-world elegance and modern refinement. I highly recommend it to guests looking for something special during their stay. If I had to make one small note, it would be the room view, but everything else was so exceptional that it quickly faded into the background. Tips for future guests: Don't miss the breakfast — it's worth waking up early for. Take time to visit the rooftop pool and enjoy the panoramic city views. If you're in the mood for a treat, book a grooming session at House of Barbaard — it's a highlight. The location in District 1 is ideal — peaceful, yet within easy reach of major landmarks. In short, Sofitel Saigon Plaza offers a blend of elegance, comfort, and memorable experiences. We left feeling pampered and well cared for, and look forward to returning.

Lovely Hotel

This is a very nice hotel. Rooms are so quiet, bed very comfortable room quite spacious. Lovely large bathroom but there is no bathtub - just a large shower (which didn’t stay on unless it was on full pressure). Breakfast was very very nice - we very much enjoyed the croissants - plain, chocolate and different flavours available daily. The hotel is in what appears to be a business district so retail shops are not close by. Pool area is very nice - they do have a happy hour but drinks and cocktails are expensive compared to local bars/restaurants.

Once again a great stay

I have been to this hotel numerous times now and I find it a joy to stay here. The Staff are brilliant and very welcoming especially the Concierge, Tim,Andy and Rick and the rest of the staff. I check in on the 18th floor in the club lounge were the beautiful staff of Tram, Anna, new Anna,Astrid,Zoe,Lucy and Evelyn you can not meet more magnificent people in any hotel I have been to worldwide. The GM Mr Alistair Minty must be very proud of his staff. Very sadly Evelyn who is having to leave at the end of May and I believe will then just pop back when ever needed which is a shame as she is an asset to the hotel and club it would be a joy if an appointment could be found for her. I must not forget Marcus and Brian who make up a great team for the hotel. I must also mention the Boudoir bar on the ground floor. This bar is a joy to meet up with friends or past some hours away. The staff are hard to beat and a joy to talk too, SuperKim(in side joke) Rose,Swan,My,Ami and Aunty, sorry these are there English names. Do not forget St25 restaurant with Amber and Mimi and the rest of the staff, great food Thank you. Also the front desk Mgr Abbie a pleasure to meet, and my housekeeping staff, Thanh Ngoc,Dao,Sunil,Mychau and Hai.. Thank you all.
