W Hollywood Is the Place to Stay!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Absolutely outstanding stay and experience at the W Hollywood!!!!! This was my first time staying at the W Hollywood and it will not be my last. My fiance and I went up to Hollywood and the Hollywood Bowl to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed a laugh-filled evening at the "NetFlix Is A Joke Radio" show at the Bowl. I picked the W Hollywood for the convenient location and it was perfect. First and foremost, the staff is PHENOMENAL!!!! Extremely professional, warm and customer service oriented! From the time we pulled up on Thursday at lunchtime to the time we left on Friday afternoon, I felt so welcomed and cared about. They made my birthday celebration feel extra special and truly memorable! HUGE shout-out to the Concierge, Marinna Benzon, who went above and beyond to make it a terrific first-time stay! Our room was one of the new renovated (and exceptional) city view rooms. It was huge and had all the amenities we could ever want/need. Lots of storage space and extra room for sitting - including a wrap around leather couch with window bench seat/twin bed if you have little ones. We had breakfast and lunch at TLR (The Living Room) restaurant on-site and both were very good. Again, outstanding service from the staff! I can't say enough great things about this hotel and staff. I'm really looking forward to taking my daughter there over the summer and enjoy their rooftop pool and lounge areas.

Beautiful new rooms

I stayed in a recently renovated room on the 11th floor, and it was absolutely gorgeous! I loved the lighting, design palette, and amenities. Every hotel employee I encountered was extremely kind, and the location (on top of both a metro station and a Trader Joe’s) can’t be beat. The only negative issues I experienced were: -very loud HVAC unit that was difficult to operate. It made a loud clicking sound every time it turned on, which was very disruptive in the middle of the night. -That despised standard-issue Marriott down comforter w/ triple sheeting. This is more a critique of Marriott and not this specific W hotel, because it’s literally in all of them. But I hate waking up in a puddle of sweat under that down comforter, and wish the hotel chain would switch to a thinner quilt. Some of us are hot sleepers!!!! -miscommunication with room service. Not only did room service bring me the wrong item for breakfast (I ordered a croissant, they didn’t tell me they’d run out, and instead brought a muffin nearly an hour later that I didn’t even want), but the next morning they woke me up at 7am with someone else’s breakfast order. Note: there was indeed construction noise, but because I was out of the room from about 8:30am-9:30pm every day, it didn’t really bother me. If you’re looking to sleep in, it will be an issue. Also there were loud protests for maybe an hour a couple times during my stay. Annoying, but par for the course these days. All in all, I’d definitely stay here again, and I’m sure the whole place will be as nice as my room and the lobby once all the renovations are finished. -

Amazing hotel but not the best location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Superb unexpected hotel. Delayed over 3 hours waiting to get into room but well compensated and really well looked after. The rooms were excellent with all essentials needed supplied even fridge mini bar and draw full of sweets. Most front staff were miserable but one lady was a very happy smiley most helpful lady & the bar staff with a Mohican style guy was very good also. Can’t remember names. The manager was also very attentive & apologetic.

Exceptional customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The customer service here is EXCEPTIONAL. There is so much staff and they are all so willing to help. From valet to the front desk to concierge to everyone else. I’ve rarely experienced this level of attentiveness. Laura F. at the front desk is a gem. The pool deck is under construction and you can’t use it so keep that in mind. Fabulous location, clean property, and again, customer service. Whoever is in charge of customer service should be acknowledged.

Stay away!!!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

BEWARE!!!!! The hotel is UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!!!! RUDE contractors who will wake you up at 8am and will not move out of your way. Besides that they dont tell you the hotel is under construction when making reservations, they dont advertise this on their site. So this is what you can expect: loud beeping noises at 8am, a makeshify lobby on the 12th floor, rude security who greet you with "are you staying here?" instead of Good Morning sir....Painters, bad smells, rude customer service. Black mold in the room. (See pics) Stay away!!!!!
