Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong

We had to change from another hotel that was undergoing renovation so coming to Island Shangri-La staying at the newly renovated premium room on the 50th floor was a bliss. The excellent service at checking In despite some rude guest jumping the queue made you feel welcome. We enjoyed the high quality breakfast with its many choices as well as just being in the room mixing work and leisure. We will certainly come back.

Rude, rude, very rude, especially from many staff at the managerial level. There is a mouldy smell in the room, and 5* hotel service is non-existent in this 'hotel'.

We recently returned from an unforgettable 6-night stay at the Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong, and I can confidently say: this is the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at – bar none. Traveling as a family of five (my wife and I, our two young daughters aged 3 and 1, and my mother), we had high hopes for this trip. What we experienced at the Island Shangri-La didn’t just meet those expectations—it completely surpassed them in every way. Family Heaven: Themed Family Rooms & Dedicated Family Floor We stayed in one of their themed family rooms, and it was an absolute dream for our little ones. The room was beautifully designed, playful, and thoughtfully tailored to young children without compromising on the luxury and elegance Shangri-La is known for. There were special touches everywhere—from kid-friendly bedding and toys to themed decor that made our girls feel like they were on a magical adventure. The dedicated family floor is an inspired concept. It’s more than just rooms—it’s an entire environment designed with families in mind. There’s a communal playroom full of high-quality toys, books, and activities that kept our girls entertained for hours. The thoughtful amenities like bottle sterilizers, baby bathtubs, and even kid-sized robes and slippers made life as traveling parents not just easier, but genuinely enjoyable. Service That Sets the Global Gold Standard What truly elevates Island Shangri-La beyond even the finest five-star hotels is the impeccable service. Every team member—from front desk to housekeeping, concierge to restaurant staff—was warm, professional, and genuinely cared about making our stay perfect. The team knew our names, anticipated our needs, and went above and beyond in every interaction. They made our daughters feel like royalty, often stopping to engage with them, bringing them treats, and even organizing little surprises in the room. My mother was equally impressed with how well the team catered to all generations of our family. Location & Access Situated above Pacific Place mall and directly connected to the MTR, it’s one of the most convenient hotels in the city. Whether we were heading to Disneyland, Central, or simply exploring the shops and restaurants nearby, everything was easily accessible without needing to worry about logistics—especially important when traveling with young kids. Dining & Facilities The breakfast buffet was exceptional—fresh, diverse, and with plenty of kid-friendly options. We dined in-room and in several of the restaurants and were impressed every time. The quality of food, attention to detail, and the way they catered to children (even in fine dining settings) was truly commendable. Final Thoughts: No Better Hotel in Hong Kong We’ve stayed in many top-tier hotels around the world, including in Hong Kong, but nothing comes close to the Island Shangri-La for a family experience that blends genuine luxury with heartfelt hospitality. The balance they strike between elegance and warmth is rare—and priceless. To the entire team at Island Shangri-La: thank you for giving our family a stay we will treasure forever. We’re already planning our return visit, and we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. If you're a family traveling to Hong Kong—this is the hotel. Look no further.

Had an amazing stay at Shangri La Island, HK - harbour views from the room were incredible and the food and service was also excellent. A big thank you to Nicole Tang who gave us such a warm welcome on arrival and looked after us so well during our stay! Would highly recommend this hotel.
