The Upper House is a highly individualized small luxury hotel designed by Hong Kong architect Andre Fu. The hotel’s 117 rooms including 21 suites and 2 penthouses, start at 730 square feet, the largest in Hong Kong. Rooms and suites feature wonderfully spacious bathrooms and dressing areas, and offer either scenic harbour or island views. Calming and contemporary, the rooms are designed to provide a sense of relaxation, warmth and understated luxury. Bespoke service, well-crafted natural materials and a design aesthetic based around the ‘Upward Journey’ creates a timeless serenity that flows through the different rooms of our House.

Amazing room, amazing stay. The location is fantastic, close walk to Wan Chai and then onwards to Causeway Bay. You can also go in the other direction to Central by car very quickly, or just go down to Admiralty MTR and be across to the TST side in one step within 10 minutes. Atmosphere and vibes were incredible. Very chic, very great spot. Natalie and her team were fantastic. I stayed with a 1 year old, and they had the cot ready and baby proofed the room without asking (they put corner plastic guards). Wind down service is a nice touch, and cleanliness was top notch.

If you know Hong Kong, you know it can be hot, chaotic and a little stressful to navigate. The Upper House provides a total haven from that, complete with immaculate rooms, flawless service and attentive staff. We were on a long-overdue trip 'back', but the first for our two young daughters. The room was bigger than most typical HK apartments, with unrivalled views of the city from both the room and the bathroom. All toiletries were considered. The only extremely minor point was that all the toiletries fixed to the wall by the shower so not transferable to the bathtub, but as I say, barely worth mentioning in the context of everything else. By nightfall on our first day, the team had made the sofa into a bed (the main bed being big enough for three), and each evening there were small treats to return to- the highlight being the make-your-own lemon tart with cute piping bags and decorations. Each day, we enjoyed breakfast in Salisterra where the staff couldn't do enough for you. I tried every breakast I could, and they were all delicious. Then, every afternoon, we would return from an activity and to a nice cool room to rest. It was honestly one of the nicest hotel stays I've had.

We were in need of a hotel for a hotel in Hong Kong and I noted that Upper House was featured at number 10 on the list of ‘The World’s 50 Best Hotels’. Having lived in Hong Kong and stayed at many of its wonderful hotels over the years, I thought it was time to try something new. My expectations were high and I am happy to say those expectations were more than met. We loved the Upper House from the minute we stepped out of the car at 10pm, were surrounded by staff and then whisked up to our room for check in. Within minutes, we were the 41st floor, sitting on the sofa of our ‘Upper Suite’. The Upper Suite was gorgeous and the views were wonderful. The bathroom of the Upper Suite is amazing, but the showstopper here is the service and attention to detail. Allow me to explain... Following my booking, the guest services team reached out to ask about the purpose of our trip. I explained that my friend and I had been traveling through Asia and that this was the last stop before heading home. I also mentioned that my friend was turning 60 in a matter of days. So, fast forward… when we opened the door to our suite, we were immediately greeted with birthday balloons and streamers. 10 minutes later… a cake and champagne arrived. Needless to say, this was an incredibly kind gesture and very well appreciated. Over our three day stay, staff were quick to recognize us and mention a ‘happy birthday’ to my friend. I have had hotels do nice things in the past, but this went straight to the top of the list. Back to the room, it was very comfortable. The Upper Suite has a separate living area with dining table and mini bar as well as a large bedroom, wardrobe and bathroom. While entire suite is beautiful, the standout feature is the bathroom, which features large picture windows and a stand alone tub. Simply beautiful. The shower has both a rain head and a hand held shower with strong water pressure - I loved taking a shower here! Add in the soft towels, robes and Bamford toiletries and the package is complete. Finally, the bed, down pillows, down comforter and soft sheets were all great and felt like home. Upper House says that they want a residential feel to their hotels. From my perspective, the rooms are spacious and beautiful and they have easily achieved that. In addition, the Upper House has a great location with easy access to the best of Hong Kong’s shopping, restaurants and transportation - walking into Central is a breeze. But from my perspective, what really sets the Upper House apart is its superb staff and attention to detail. After this, I truly can’t imagine staying anywhere else in HK.

Upper house is amazing. Probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at. Much better value than the St Regis in HK and the rooms are larger. Nice gym and amenities and service is absolutely top notch.

Outstanding customer service and accommodations. The studio room was huge and offered a full panoramic glass view. Gorgeous layout and details. Perfect in every way. They
