We had a wonderful 6 night stay here. It was refreshing to be treated as a valued guest. We arrived early morning from a cruise and the staff were happy to look after our bags and let us use the facilities including a hospitality room with office facilities, garden area, sun beds and infinity pool with amazing ocean views and background music. Cabana charge is very reasonable. Our room was also ready earlier than expected and our bags arrived minutes after we stepped in the room. We had 6 suitcases and it was immediate and no trouble to organise extra racks for the cases. We had decided not to book an ocean view as we were on a long holiday and we were not disappointed with the view of the city and mountains. The mist and clouds over the mountains in the mornings was spectacular! Everything was modern and exceptionally clean. Japanese toilets, lighting panel switches bedside, panels to operate different curtain options. The lanai was a cute touch even though not big enough to sit on it was nice to stand on and also have the sliding door open for fresh air. We appreciated that the decent size room fridge had nothing in it and we were encouraged to fill it with our own items. The porter who dropped our bags also showed us a menu of items we could ask for complimentary and once we decided what we would like these were literally delivered within minutes. The slides were great for the pool area, the slippers nice for the room with a robe and the refillable water bottles easy to carry around when walking around the island in the heat. The toiletries were of a high quality and not overly scented which I appreciated being a migraine sufferer. The tea and coffee was from local suppliers which was a nice touch. There was also plenty of USB ports on both sides of the bed. Speaking of the bed it was very large and roomy - absolute heaven! I used the laundry facilities - 3 washers and 4 dryers @ $4.50 a cycle. We also took advantage of the complimentary loan beach towels, beach bag and beach chairs. I accidentally left my US adapter at home it was no trouble to loan me one from the front desk for my stay. I mentioned I was a little cold one night and 2 extra doonas were delivered to our room. Anything we requested was literally delivered to our room within minutes of asking. The customer service was exceptional! We were able to charge items at their sister hotel Halekulani to our room. I could only find one area for improvement the spa very hot and pool very cold.

We stayed here two nights. Check-in was seamless, our front desk agent was super detailed and friendly. Their valet staff was also extremely nice. Room was comfortable, my only issue was there was an ongoing noise that kept interrupting our sleep. We initially thought it was a gecko but realized on our second night that it had to have been something else. We were too tired to report it as our stay was so short, but in hindsight, I should have said something sooner. They are not oceanfront and when I tried to go through their sister property to access their path to the ocean, I was turned away. So I’m not clear on what the arrangement is there. There is an access path in an alleyway to a small beach area, but to get to the bigger stretch of beach, you have to walk over to the Royal Hawaiian area. The hotel itself is beautiful and very quiet and relaxing for Waikiki. They provide several amenities for guests, which is nice. Not sure I would stay here again (2/3 elevators being out of service was also a little annoying), but I am glad we tried it out.
