Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger

The location was excellent and the room itself was comfortable and well appointed. However, the overall experience was average. After an 11-hour flight with a toddler, we arrived early and were told the only way to check in early was to pay $100. Prior to arrival, early check-in had been described as subject to availability, but it became clear that availability didn’t matter unless you paid. This is the first hotel I’ve stayed at with such a policy and it made for a poor first impression. Check-in was inconsistent. We had a pleasant staff member, while our friends, checking in at the same time right next to us, had a very negative experience with a staff member who seemed like he didn't want to be there. A 4am fire alarm highlighted further issues with a poorly managed evacuation process with no clear communication from staff. Finally, it was disappointing to later receive an email offering a discount to hotel guests for the Auana by Cirque du Soleil show, after I had specifically asked on two occasions before booking tickets whether any guest discounts were available and was told there were none. Overall, location was great, amentities and service average. I also don’t really understand the purpose of the additional resort fee, which wasn’t well explained.

My wife and I have stayed at the Outrigger Waikīkī Beachcomber hotel for a little bit over a week. We had Donna and Shayne as our housekeepers. They were pleasant every day. Saying hello and wishing us a great day with a big smile too. We have had a great time. So we would like to say Thank You Donna and Shayne!!!! Christian & Teresa

Excellent location in the middle of Waikiki. It isn’t a beachfront property but they do have ocean views—if you don’t mind looking between other hotels and roof tops. Very short walk to Waikiki beach that takes less than 2 minutes. This is a hotel and nothing similar to one of the big resorts, but that’s ok if you don’t want all the resort extras. Hawaiian Aroma cafe was excellent for breakfast. Maui Brewing is just off the lobby. Pool isn’t huge, but very nice. It’s just off the lobby, too. Room was clean and just as pictured. Housekeeping did a good job each day. Caren at the front desk was a delight. Would stay here again, for sure.

My family and I had a great time here. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki, the room was clean, the cafe was a go-to for coffee, breakfast and drinks, and the staff and mgmt, in particular Florencia, were incredibly helpful!

We’ve stayed at the Beachcomber Waikiki eight times over the past 14 years, and every visit has been just as wonderful as the last. The location is absolutely perfect, the staff are consistently warm and welcoming, and the rooms are spacious, beautifully presented, and extremely comfortable. The hotel has a fantastic atmosphere and is faultless in every way for our family. A special mention must go to the hotel manager, Angelica, who truly makes this hotel exceptional. She goes above and beyond to personally welcome us every time and always ensures our stay is seamless and memorable. From helping us prior to arrival to checking in during our stay, her care, professionalism, and genuine kindness never go unnoticed. We can’t wait to return again.
