Birthday at the Thompson
The best place to stay in Houston! It was a trip to celebrate our son’s birthday and after a three hour flight delay, we were all exhausted. Once we finally arrived to our room, they had the room all decorated for his birthday with treats, balloons, and even an astronaut light to make it look like space! They definitely went above and beyond, and he was so excited after a long travel day- thank you for making our stay so special!

Needs improvement.
Overall care and compassion of guests was not felt, by myself and my wife. As a designated AMEX Fine Hotels + Resorts, this location did not meet my expectations to be on this AMEX list. Check-in welcoming was missing documentations and was not prepared. The room was sub-par for the price we paid; comparable to a stay in the Holiday Inn. More amenities should be available, like heated bathrooms floors, dimmable lighting, softer towels, just to name a few. Quiet hours need to also be enforced.

I had Pamela during a couples massage and it was the absolute best massage I have ever had. I think it’s the first time I actually fell asleep at the end. Thank you for a wonderful experience Pamela!

Exceptional service before even staying! ^.^
Staying in September 2025 but called to see if I can get a room in a quiet spot (not near elevator, next to pool, etc.). Yolanda was so helpful in helping me with my requests and even added a note that hubs and I are celebrating our 25 yr anniversary. She was informative, sweet and very helpful. Can’t wait to stay at the Thompson - already getting exceptional service before I even stay there.
