This is the epitome of 5 star
This review will not do it justice. The location is incredible, the feeling when you arrive and see and hear the falls, just wow. This hotel defines 5 star, every moment is pure luxury, the hotel is stunning and the staff match the hotel. I can’t wait to go back. We had the falls to ourselves in the evening and early morning. If this is a big trip and you can then splurge on this place you won’t regret it.

Absolutely Exceptionsl
Everything about this property is exceptional. The location, the property itself, all the staff and the attention to detail. We have been fortunate to travel to many beautiful properties around the world but the staff here are exceptional. Nothing is too much bother and the concierge team are the best we have come across. We arranged our excursions before we arrived in Argentina and this was done impeccably and our side trip to the Devil’s Throat happily accommodated. The location is out of this world. All in all, a stunning location, a beautiful hotel and a first class service. This was our first time at a Belmond property but it will not be our last. Thank you to everyone at Hotel das Cataratas for making our stay very very special indeed.

Beautiful hotel across from the Iguassu Falls.
We spent 3 amazing nights exploring the falls and staying at Hotel Cataratas. Staff was amazing. We felt very comfortable in the pub style bar and the servers were wonderful. The restaurant offered a breakfast buffet that never seemed to stop. Lunch and dinner are ordered off a menu (except in high season when, because of the number of guests, it's buffet). Our room was in the Garden Wing and it was beautiful. The furnishings were lovely and the bathroom was good sized and loaded with amenities. Our room had a refrigerator and a coffee/tea service. The pool area was lovely. The falls are directly across the street and since the hotel is inside the national park, you have the whole area to yourself before the park opens and after it closes. Our last evening we were unable to check in for our flight home and the concierge desk worked on it until it was resolved (The hiccup was Latam).

We stayed at Hotel Cataratas at the end of our 17 days in Brazil. A perfect ending. Our room was charming and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel neglected to make arrangements for our transport from the airport (which was included in our LL package), but they made up for the error many times over during our stay, including a complementary guide when we visited the Iguassu Falls on the Argentina side. The location of the hotel also provides access to the viewing trails for the falls during hours when the park is closed to other tourist. A real bonus that is not available to those staying in the hotel in the Argentinian park. Next time I stay at Hotel Cataratas I'll coordinate my trip with a full moon!
