Watch out for fradulent charges!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Watch out for fradulent charges!!!! Someone was able to make a $1,604.62 purchase at the Citrus market and charge it to my room!!!! I went to the Hyatt Indian Wells to celebrate nurses' week and Mother's Day. I checked in on Friday. The room I had reserved was not available anymore, so I was given an upgrade which was very much appreciated. However, this whole experience was marred. We checked out on Monday. Upon checkout I discovered a charge for $1604.62 from the Citrus Market that I did not make. I pointed it out to the person who was checking me out. He removed it. The next day I received an email asking me to endorse this charge since there was a signature on it. I replied and said that it wasn't me and I wasn't going to endorse it. I called the Hyatt throughout the day on Wednesday and finally got through later that afternoon. I spoke to Justin and he told me he would call back after an investigation. He called back and told me that someone had purchased sunglasses at the Citrus Market and the charge had been refunded. I asked for itemized receipts of my whole stay which he emailed. I asked him if there were protocols in place when a person makes a large purchase. He said there was. I'm not sure how a tab of $1,604.62 was allowed to be made without checking ID. I guess you can just charge any room you want! Then, some unsuspecting victim has to deal with the outcome. There were two other fradulent charges on my room from the Road Runner cafe. I requested a refund for those charges and no one has replied to me. I also made a police report. Is some scammer going out and living their best life on someone else's dime? Was this a mistake? Or an inside job? Who knows! It's a really unfortunate, stressful, and inconvenient situation. It's such a shame! It's a beautiful property and it costs a pretty penny to stay there. It's great for families. Unfortunately, my confidence in Hyatt Indian Wells has been lost! If you stay there make sure you keep ALL receipts and go through your bill with a fine toothed comb.

Great birthday getaway.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This was the fifth year we have gone to this Hyatt resort for my birthday and each year our stay has gotten better and better. Even though they still had some renovations going on you wouldn't have known it. They have given the hotel a great refresh. The staff, as always, are great, very helpful and very professional. If you are going as couple to have a quiet getaway I do recommend staying the beginning of the week as it does fill up with families on weekends and long weekends. And it is understandable why, it is a great resort for families as well.

Outdated mediocre hotel at five star prices

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Despite a very extensive renovation, this hotel looks very dated and in need of a renovation. There is no concierge to help you. I tried calling the hotel many times in advance of my stay. All you get is an annoying AI voice. Highly disappointing. When you charge five star prices, you expect five star rooms and food and service. This fell well below expectations. Very very mediocre. There are far better places to stay than this hotel. The air conditioning went on every half hour VERY LOUDLY...and so a decent sleep was impossible. Could not wait to leave.

Sisters bday

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Starting from how clean and big our room was, my family and I had a wonderful time/vacation celebrating my sisters bday and also Mother’s Day . We had dinner and spent our day in the pool which all the kids had so much fun

The worst "Guest Services" of any hotel I've ever stayed at

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Trying to call the front desk from your room directs you to some AI voice assistant that can't do anything besides regurgitate facts off the hotel website. If you ask to speak to a human, it sends you to someone in a ******* call center who memory-holes your request about half the time. We almost missed our flight home because we waited 20 minutes for a bellman that was never sent to our room, then waited some more at the valet because the "front desk" didn't let them know I was checking out like I'd asked. Giving this place an extra star because the pool area is huge and my kid loved it, but otherwise I've had better service at a Best Western.
