Excellent 3 night stay. What truly made it outstanding was our 2 incredible butler's..Eddy and Rafael! They couldn't have been more attentive, professional and kind! Outstanding customer service!

Just got back from 5 days at Secrets Playa Blanca and I’m seriously obsessed. This was my 3rd Secrets property and easily my favorite. We stayed in preferred, and it was AMAZING. totally worth it. The resort is beautiful — brand new, clean, and modern — but the people made it unforgettable. Ernesto at Seaside Grill was the sweetest and so attentive, Victor at Portofino made dinner feel like an experience, and Cesar at Coco Café had the BEST energy and somehow remembered our coffee orders every day. Israel at Himitsu was awesome — so friendly and funny — ended up going back here for a second night (forgot the servers name) but he was also incredible. Gloria and Martin, our butlers, went above and beyond to make our anniversary special, and always checked in on us. Antonio at Oceana, Raphael by the social pool, and Miguel and Auri in the Preferred Lounge were all incredible and so friendly. Everyone we met was so kind, genuine, and hardworking. I’d come back in a heartbeat — make sure to tip these workers, they truly deserve it.

At Secrets Resort by Hyatt, restaurant reservations technically open at midnight — but don’t expect a fair shot. I logged in right at 12:00 a.m. and found that the teppanyaki restaurant already showed only a 9:45 p.m. slot left. Later, several guests told me the real way to get an early reservation is by tipping the concierge or a restaurant server. The same goes for finding a poolside chair — it seems “reserved” long before sunrise. Save yourself the frustration; the app won’t help much when access depends on informal payments and personal connections.

October 2025 A perfect balance Our first stay at Secrets Playa Blanca, and defiantly will not be our last! We are UVC members and have been to over 15 resorts across the brand! First, we want to acknowledge how functional and efficient this resort operates, it is shocking that it is only two years old! We attribute this to exceptional frontline staff! For example, 1). Check in was flawless; we worked with Angel and upgraded to an Ocean front swim out for a cost. 2). Our butlers Duran and Gustavo met all of our requests from daily coffee in the room to booking a spa treatment and verifying that the air conditioning was indeed working! We hope to see you two again very soon! 3). The pool and beach staff made our stay and we are still talking about them a week later. We were lucky enough to meet Eduardo and Jorge on the beach on our first full day. They are personable and attentive to what your preferences are for drinks and relaxation. Eduardo quickly recognized that we preferred “low sugary” drinks and made great suggestions to skinny Singapore slings and skinny frozen lemonade and vodkas. Jorge made us so happy with his daily morning “hello greeting” and smile. He has such a genuine personality. PS. He also cleaned our sunglasses several times and made our beach chairs super comfy which we were so grateful for! Our favorite dinner was at Portofino and really enjoyed getting to know Jesus. My wife and I both had the Caprese salad, bruschetta, minestrone soup and the chicken parmesan. The presentation of the food was well thought out and it was delicious! We also want to acknowledge Market Cafe, which oftentimes gets overlooked in a review. We looked forward to going to breakfast everyday and having a made to order quesadilla or omelet. Christian greeted us every morning with a warm smile, we miss these mornings already! We utilize the spa services at every Secrets resort we vacation at. My favorite so far is Secrets Bahia Mita followed by Dreams Natura. I’ll start with my negative critique first, the hydrotherapy here is just ok. We felt rushed and it didn’t feel relaxing. Also going in October and having water and lush gardens attracted a ton of mosquitoes. However, the massage therapists made up for this! We received a relaxing 80 minute couples massage and added the facial and warm wax option. It was heavenly! When we return to this resort, we will specifically request them! We went to the gym one morning around 7 AM and would have liked to go more during our vacation but It was busy and there is not a ton of free weights which is what we prefer to do! I would advise that if the gym is part of your routine, go early! Because we had a swim out, we spent only two days at the preferred pool. The vibe at this pool is a mix between relaxing and social. We appreciated meeting some other couples and our server Henry was outstanding! If you are lucky enough to sit in his section—you will be taken care of! My last comment is about UVC. I see so many people saying avoid the “time share meeting”. My suggestion is to make your own decision on this and not base it off of reviews. We are very happy members and honest people. If you truly are interested in joining the vacation club—go to a meeting. It’s super informative!! Know that the membership is like purchasing a car. It’s not going to take an hour—it’s going to take 3 or more hours to be well informed. Don’t sign the contact unless you are 100% aware of the terms in the contract. Edgar is a good one at Secrets Playa Blanca—request him if you are interesting in learning more about UVC.

Ana our butler was AMAZING. The food was AMAZING. Everyone was super kind and very helpful with any questions or request you had!
