Address the little things

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

I have been going to the hotel off and on since the 1990's. The hotel is perfect for my needs regarding the room and the pool area. The staff is very good. The value is very good. The Beach Club has changed its Happy Hour food variety. It used to serve hot entrees. It is generally understaffed and the food is notoriously cold. The chafing dishes need to be properly heated and the food served hot. Simple things that need to be addressed.

December 2025 updates

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

A lot is written already, here we are as off December 2025 : - All elevators are working - AC in the rooms is barely pumping ( 27 c in our room is all we get ) , the fan helps . - It is not very busy , yet, lots of chairs , towels , ets - service everywhere is great - buffet food is good; long lineups to get in is still a thing - no entertainment other then Friday night fiesta What other reviews didn't mention : - ocen views are absolutely everywhere - floor numbers starts at 10; lobby and most restaurants are on 18th ; pools are half way up the hill , around level 13. Ask for a room on level that is most convenient for you . All rooms have ocean view . - lots of people complain about stairs , yes , there are a lot ; but , there is an option of shady, low- incline paths through property also. - beach and property is absolutely beautiful and landscape is natural . - hotel is about 25 min walk ( downt the hill on a beautiful and shady street) to zona hoteliera ( market , bars restaurants) or 80 pecos taxi ride . Overall, the 3 - star is based on comparison to other resorts , especially Las Brizas Huatulco; but if the price is right and you like walking hills and play in the waves, this is a good choice .

Great Views let down (a lot) by meal plan

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

1) The view(s) and grounds ---ten out of ten 2)The beach ---ten out of ten (although surf tends to be 6 to 12 ft....so need to be 'careful' out there 3)The food offering ----below average for beach resorts in general. Menu's and buffet offerings are very limited in both scope (number of dishes) and variety....not much/any change day to day. Food quality (very) average. Only 3 alacartes with one (Las BrisasII) only offering 3 entrees, 2 salads and 2deserts to choose from (for those on the 'all-inclusive' package) ......but the views from Las BrisasII are great and the setting is intimate. 4) The rooms -- the Hotel is old....so AC can be hit and miss; the mini-bar is not stocked (for the all-inclusive plan) as a matter of course. BUT the view from your ocean-side balcony is to die for..........AND every room has a great view (so you don't have to worry that they will put you in a room with only 'partial' view of Ocean

Eighth visit to Paradise.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is our EIGTH visit to this hotel. There are a number of reasons we keep returning. firstly is the staff; always friendly, attentive and mindful. Then there is the private beach, with beautiful sand, and warm, clear water, with playful, but cheeky and adventurous waves. Complementing the beach experience, there are wonderful thatched umbrellas to protect you from the sun and comfortable lounge chairs on which to enjoy the beach. Furthermore, there is food available right on the beach, along with showers and toilets, as well as a kiosk to get fresh towels. And last but not least, The beach has a very experienced and attentive lifeguard to ensure everyone’s safety. The room was spacious with a large patio overlooking the beach and forest area of the hotel. It was well stocked with towels, water, soaps, and shampoos, and the cleaning staff always did a fantastic job to maintain the room every day while we were there.. The breakfast every day is worth the visit with fresh regional fruits and Mexican themed hot dishes. The lunches offered up fresh salads, hot dishes and desserts by the pool, and the dinners were always varied with even the option of doing fine dining above the beach or in the Italian And Mexican restaurants on site. The restaurant staff likewise is worth the visit; always friendly, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that your dining experience is a good one. The front desk staff were always helpful and patient, and so were the luggage handlers and staff responsible for securing taxis to and from the hotel. We will be back there again soon.
