About the Hotel

Settled in the rural countryside behind an ancient wall, a palatial marble façade rises in panoramic magnificence. Walking through the gates, you will notice the horses being groomed in the stables and 20 acres of carefully manicured gardens – the private garden retreat of the Samode Royal family. Designed in the classical “Char Bagh” style, complete with water channels and fountains, it is one of the oldest functional Mughal gardens of Rajasthan. All the accommodations in Samode Bagh are luxurious, spacious, elegant, dune-colored tents. All tents are equipped with every contemporary convenience, are attractively furnished and air-conditioned, and have marble bathrooms. The main dining pavilion is a warm hub that serves royal Rajasthani and international cuisine. Fine dining is a Samode hallmark.

Reviews for Samode Bagh

Great place to stop between Delhi and Jaipur.

Wish we could’ve stayed another night. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Great matress and a good nights sleep. Really beautiful gardens surrounding us. Ate in the restaurant that evening and food and service was great. Staff even went out of their way to give us a tour of the banquet or wedding halls. It’s a quiet retreat between Delhi and Jaipur. Had a nice breakfast with lots of choices then Went to see the Samode palace the next day. Highly recommend a night or two here..

Beautiful

Honestly, i don’t think the website and some of the reviews do this place justice…. I attended Samode Bagh for a family wedding in October and honestly the rooms, staff, the grounds was just beautiful. It was my husbands first time visiting india, and his first time attending a wedding in india and it blew all his expectations. There is so much a couple could do with this hotel/ resort so i would recommend. I love how this hotel is quite discreet. It seems quite hidden away in “the sticks” therefore is very peaceful and quite (until the wedding fun begins). Would love to return here just for a normal relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle.

We were attending a luncheon with our family and friends at Samode Bagh. The garden picnic was simply wonderful created by the hotel for our group which consisted of children, parents, grandparents and friends. We were lucky to have fabulous entertainment for our celebrations which consisted of snake charmers, camel rides, pottery makers and local stalls for us to purchase gifts. The hotel is located 1.5hrs drive from Jaipur and close to Samode Palace where we were staying for three nights. The Bagh is over 250 years old and is the garden retreat of the Samode Royal family. It consists of 44 Royal tents, swimming pool, massage retreat with numerous tours available. The staff were brilliant offering excellent friendly service. The gardens are gorgeous designed in the Char Bagh style with creative fountains and numerous water channels running through the gardens, it’s definitely a must do if looking for a unique and traditional experience on your journey through India. 🇮🇳

Never again...

My friends and I planned Samode Bagh based on the experience of one of my accompanying friends who had stayed there previously and he constantly raved about the place. Instead of beating around the bush I will come straight to the points based on my experience. . . - We booked 3 tents as we were 3 families visiting the place. However one of the family had a medical emergency that included hospitalisation just a week before the trip was planned. We contacted the property asking if it would be possible for them to cancel one of the bookings and they straightaway said NO and said that they can instead convert that one booking to a voucher that can be redeemed in the future. I have no idea if our friend would be visiting the property in the future. So I would strongly recommend that if a booking is made then please visit the property even if you are taking your last breath. . . - The other turn off for us was the food. Every food item in the restaurants is super-exorbitant price wise. All the dishes in the restaurant cost Rs 1200 and above. Even a simple dish like Dal Baati for 2 was priced at Rs 4000 and that too excluding GST. At the end of our stay our food bill was more than the cost of our stay. Since the property is at a place with no restaurants in the vicinity, you would be left with no other choice which the management has learned to exploit. Also i would like to add here that the food is just OK apart from 1-2 items in their dishes which again has been customised for foreign taste buds and spice tolerance. I don't mind paying a higher price for a food if the taste and preparation can be justified. I have paid more for food in other restaurants in other properties I have visited but those restaurants were a speciality restaurant, having exotic cuisines. Overall I will not recommend this property to anyone unless they dont mind paying the prices offered or if they are ok with driving to Jaipur for meals (Jaipur is 45 km from Samode Bagh). I definitely would not visit the place again.

An Oasis near Jaipur.

The photos that you see on internet don't do justice to the property. It's far far better and an excellent property. Located near Jaipur in a quiet locale it's a place one can unwind and relax admist the well maintained huge gardens. One wakes up to chirping of birds and calls off the day with birds returning to the nests in the numerous tress of the garden. Advice to the management, please change or upload newer photos of the property and keep up the immaculate services that you are offering.
