An oasis in the historic walled city of Jaipur, Samode Haveli is a traditional Indian mansion set in a glorious garden with apartments arranged around a series of courtyards. Built 175 years ago as a residence of the rulers of Samode, it is still occupied by their descendants, who have converted their home into a luxury hotel. Bedrooms are hidden all about the rambling building and are astonishingly decorative, covered in twinkling mirror work, with ornate paintings, tiny alcoves and soaring arches. Rooms have large beds and most have private terraces. The restaurant features a spectacular hand-painted dining hall which provides a special setting for dinner, and offers a choice of Indian food or delicious Asian and European meals. Guests can also take advantage of the hotel's spa, with sauna and steam room facilities, and a range of luxurious massage therapies offered by expert professionals.

I absolutely loved my stay at Samode Haveli in Jaipur. The property is stunning—full of charm and character—with beautiful architecture and thoughtfully designed spaces. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, making the whole experience feel special (special shout-out to Gokul, our driver). I really enjoyed the food, and there were plenty of cozy little corners around to relax and unwind. Sunset drinks on the rooftop were a highlight—peaceful, atmospheric, and a perfect way to end the day.

Oh wow what can I say about this hotel apart from it’s absolutely gorgeous, you have to see it to believe how opulent it is. The staff are amazing and everyone is so friendly, they just want you to have a fantastic experience whilst you stay there. The restaurant atmosphere is great and the food is gorgeous, with the breakfast being equally delicious.

We loved our stay here! What a beautiful hotel full of character, charm and with excellent service from the moment we arrived. Excellent location in Jaipur - you wouldn’t know it existed until stepping into another world of calm, beauty and tranquility. Beautifully decorated with pictures and paintings everywhere and quirky but wonderful design. A lovely pool area and the outdoor restaurant area set beside a banyan tree was spectacular. Food was incredible and service de one to none. The roof terrace bar overlooking the city and across to the hills was wonderful for observing sunsets and generally relaxing after days out. A truly memorable experience and we would thoroughly recommend to anyone!

I was deeply disappointed by my recent experience at Samode Haveli. As a foreign national of Indian origin, I was unfairly denied alcohol on a dry day—not because of the law, but because of how I looked. The staff assumed I was Indian, and a waiter even stated, “you are Indian, so we cannot serve you alcohol.” When I clarified that I hold a foreign passport, they still refused service, ignoring the actual rules and instead acting on their own assumptions. This wasn't just poor service—it was an experience of blatant discrimination. I was profiled and treated differently based solely on appearance. It was a stark and painful reminder that racism can exist even in the country of one’s birth. For such an expensive and reputed property, this kind of treatment is completely unacceptable. What was supposed to be a special vacation turned into a deeply upsetting and humiliating experience. It left a lasting scar—being racially judged in a place I once considered home. Samode Haveli needs to reflect seriously on how it trains its staff and treats its guests. Hospitality should be inclusive, respectful, and unbiased. No guest should ever leave feeling alienated, especially not in a place that prides itself on tradition and grace.
