About the Hotel

This 150-year-old majestic and regal Rajput-Mughal architectural masterpiece is nested on a hilltop in the Aravallis. The hotel is like something out of Aladdin, a fairytale palace. As you walk through the doors, you will feel like a ancient maharajah, and you will be treated as one. Each room is very spacious and is beautifully furnished with antique pieces. No two rooms are alike. There are two restaurants, one is fine dining, specializing in modern Indian cuisine, the other a multi-cuisine restaurant with buffets for breakfast and lunch, and à la carte for dinner.

Reviews for Samode Palace

Out of this world

This is a very special place to stay. It’s a 15th century palace in the countryside. They really aren’t any words that describe the Samode palace. The only two things I can say are that when I showed people my photos, the invariable reaction was “you stayed there”? Nobody believed you could stay somewhere so spectacular. The rough guide to India says that if it’s at all possible you should ensure you stay at least sometime in the Symone, and I couldn’t agree more.

Opulence!!!!!

Ok so it’s not cheap. And it is far from most things, although that suited me. But this is a lost gem. The history behind it, and now a hotel! Rooms are ginormous! Helpful staff and glorious food, which again isn’t cheap. Walk up to the fort and enjoy the maharaja feel.

Amazing Royal Palace Getaway

The most amazing stay we have ever had! We stayed for an anniversary in a deluxe room. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! Had we known how nice it is we definitely would have altered our itinerary. The spa is amazing, we had an exquisite couples massage. The restaurant staff is top notch, they even made us an anniversary cake! The only potential downside is filming, maybe try to stay when there isn’t filming going in. It makes noise at night and some areas you can’t see.

Beautiful but with Issues

This is a beautiful, historical hotel which we've stayed at twice previously and had an amazing experience. This time we were staying at their sister hotel - Samode Haveli in central Jaipur and went to Samode Palace just for an evening visit as we wanted to show it to the friends we were travelling with. You pay 1000 Rupees for a visit which can be offset it you take a meal at the hotel. We had a really nice member of staff who took us around and allowed us to take photographs but we were really disappointed with the experience of the rest of the staff. There was no warmth in their welcome - in fact everyone seemed rather irritated that we were interrupting what was almost an empty hotel. To be fair, they had just had a huge wedding and the hotel was virtually deserted before another wedding party was due to arrive the following day. So maybe everyone was tired but we felt very uncomfortable and was glad that we were not staying longer. It may well be that they now focus more on the lucrative wedding market than in giving individual guests the fantastic experience that they used to. You cannot deny that this is a stunning, historical building but in comparison to the other magnificent hotels in Jaipur, Samode really need to up their game in terms of warmth and welcome.

Magical ❤️

Samode Palace offers a unique rich historical experience. The 300 year old maharaja palace oozes with charm and character. We were with a group of family and friends and celebrated a 40th birthday in the stunning ornate hand painted walls dining room. It really was a magical setting offering incredible food and top notch service. Our suite was very spacious with a king size bed and combined living room. All through the room was dated it certainly had its own personality. We loved the uniqueness of the room with all its quirky nooks. The bathroom was again huge and had heaps of character. The only thing we disliked was the step up to the bathroom from the living area. The two swimming pools are gorgeous too, not to mention the beautiful rooftop one which was fabulous for evening cocktails. Overall - If looking to experience something different rather than your normal standard 5 star hotel then Samode Palace certainly gives an amazing journey.
