Raffles Jakarta

Platinum member. I get upgraded to suite. Huge room. Nice welcome chocolates and fruits. Free beverages. I go down to the arts cafe for breakfast and ask for perrier sparkling water. They say its chargeable. I tell them I have platinum tier and I dont usually pay for sparkling water. They say they will call the lounge to bring a bottle down. 🤔 End up drinking Aqua sparkling water instead. Gym is ok. Spa has amazing ice fountain and this shower cubicle that has different spurts and squirts with random animal noises. I usually go steam room in the morning and night. I tell them the steam room is not working when i get there at 945pm. This guy say its automatic and I should get there by 930. Next day I get there at 8am and tell them it's not working. They say they will look into it. Steam room was not working for 2 or 3 days and they either didnt realise or failed to alert me. Food is very bougey. The beef quality is not great. The fish and chicken dishes were amazing. Breakfast takes at least 20 to 25 minutes to come out which is not great.

thank you for the hospitality for me n my family, ive never been experience such a manner on other hotel except in Raffles Jakarta. Expectitaly for pool attendance Hafiz n Dion who taking my child at the pool since we arrive and also for Joshua n Yoga from Navina Bar whom giving me a great service. Once again thank you and cant wait to see you again.

We nearly changed our hotel from Raffles worrying it might be a bit ostentatious and formal. Thankfully we didn’t. Our experience here was one of the best we have had in many years of travelling. I originally booked the hotel for the size of the room. A large King room and we were upgraded to a pool view room. The room itself was large with a separate sitting room and large bathroom. Beautiful room, very comfortable bed. The room was serviced to a very high standard with lovely touches - fresh fruit, chocolates, fresh tea. The room comes with a Butler, I kid you not, who perceived we may prefer oranges to apples so on our 2nd day they were changed. These are the touches that make this hotel very special. We didn’t include breakfast at the booking stage so we paid separately. Normally this would be costly but at just over the equivalent of €17 per person it is great value. And that is because the breakfast is an event itself. There are a number of hot breakfast stations covering all tastes including a live cooking Sushi station. But, like many good hotels, what really sets Raffles a step above, in my mind, is the team. The service is truly exceptional without being intrusive. I felt like I was among friends. Immediately on arrival and check in we felt this was special. The friendliness is genuine and the attention to detail is incredible. As an example the breakfast staff have clearly been trained to a very high level of service. The second I left the table to chose some food my napkin was reset or a spoon was replaced. Very small details in the mix of life but just an example of the close attention paid. The Concierge team were most helpful between booking for drinks in a rooftop bar to organising transport and just general information. Would I come back again? Absolutely. Jakarta is not the most exciting place for tourists, it being more a commercial hub. However if I was routing to Indonesia again I’d stop here just for the hotel.
