Opal collection

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I stay at Opal when I can. This stay was very pleasant and an amazing experience based upon the staff and customer service. It began at check in which I arrived extremely late due to flight delays. I requested and reserved an ocean front room since I was traveling solo for a long weekend beach trip. I had an amazing room waiting for me. Thank you. I did dine here and the service was ok. The food was fine. The beach staff was outstanding, attentive and helpful. Maid service was impeccable. Thank you Opal. I had a great visit.

Under the radar gem!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This property and the whole area are a hidden gem. The service was impeccable, the facility is clean and elegant but not overwhelmingly so - it's more of a very nice beach house feel - and the rooms (though small) work really well - almost like a cruise ship room. The property is on the sand and also has 2 pools including a larger pool which is comfortable and fun. The restaurants are good - not great - but good enough to not have to leave the property for at least 1 of the dinners if you stay more than 1 night. All in all it's a great property and is highly recommended.

Awesome!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

They surpassed our expectations at every turn! The room was beautiful, the restaurant was an awesome surprise. We thought we might be there once, but we were there every night! The cookies in the pantry were a neat surprise, even little packages of ice in the pantry's freezer for us to just grab and go. Great staff, great view of the beach, this was a great trip. We will be back for sure.

A Treasure on the Treasure Coast of Florida

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We wanted a relaxing getaway close to home and from what we had seen in a quick visit to Drift with visiting guests, thought we would give Hutchinson Shores a try. It is a true treasure on the Treasure Coast. I had mentioned, in passing, that it was our birthdays, and found birthday balloons in our room. We opted for an ocean view and we were thrilled with our choice. The rooms are beautifully appointed and immaculately clean. The bathroom amenities are first class. But even more importantly the staff of the hotel, from the front desk to the Valet/Bell staff to everyone we met dining at Drift were superb. Each person made us feel like we were the only guests that mattered. They were laid back (in the finest sense of that term) but quite attentive. The food at Drift was excellent (being vegetarian we did have somewhat limited options but those were beautifully presented), and its prices pleasantly surprising for a resort destination. While we didn't try the pools or spa, they were enticing. We have stayed at a number of resorts and Hutchinson Shores now sits at the top of our list. We will be back often to dine at Drift and for getaway staycations since we live 20 miles away.

Overall meh- not a resort and not good value for money

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Have thought about staying here a few times. When in the area visiting family we usually stay at the Courtyard or Residence Inn. As world travellers we look for both luxury and value for money. We wanted a romantic and relaxing week away- read all the reviews and decided to take the leap. We booked an ocean front room - one of the higher priced rooms. We received texts and emails pre arrival and made a few requests. At checkin we quickly learned the text messaging was a bot and not a person at all. As a result none of our requests were addressed. The staff at checkin were mediocre at best. We wanted a quiet top floor room and there was debate whether there was one available or not and in the end we were on the 4th floor. We learned without any help from the front deck parking was not included in the $40/day resort fee. The fee covers internet - seriously in 2024- BUT if you want better internet it’s another $10. Valet parking is not included (another $10/day + tip) So basically for $40/day there is bottled water and saw some random oranges and unhealthy cookies on the floor. The room was very small - see any average hotel room. The people upstairs sounded like they were moving furniture constantly. Absolutely no glassware in the room just paper coffee cups and when asking for martini glasses at the bar got an eye roll and a hard no. They could not allow that. Certainly not what you’d expect at a luxury resort. Room had some insect issues (moths and dragon flies). Nespresso machine was excellent and the extra towels and blankets requested were in room. Room was damp and felt mouldy. Deck was like being in a bunker and had ocean view but was terribly small. Overall the room was very disappointing for the price. One highlight were the evening restaurant staff. Saw negative reviews on the restaurant but we only experienced great service (Elson was great l!) and the food was very good - was definitely overpriced but everything we had was delicious. I do not eat meat but that wasn’t an issue. Was going to book the spa before arrival but with a mandatory 20% tip and prices above $250/service was too big a risk for me - happy I did not based on our overall experience. At checkout was asked how was my stay and I replied “meh” and she said okay - nothing else and we’re too busy helping a lady wanting to rent bikes that to inquire about our stay. . So for $620 USD/night not good value for money. If it was $250 you would get what you paid for. Looking for luxury and exceptional service - keep looking.
