About the Hotel
Perched high above the desert capital of Jodhpur, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the last of the great palaces of India and one of the largest private residences in the world – set amidst 26 acres of lush gardens. Designed by renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester, the palace is a blend of eastern and western architectural influences. Its majestic 105 – foot high cupola is influenced by the Renaissance, while the towers draw inspiration from Rajput tradition. The lavish interiors with gilt furniture and elegant artwork follow the Art Deco style, complemented by the exotic murals by the self-exiled Polish artist Stefan Norblin. In 1997, the palace was converted into a luxury hotel, and is now managed by TAJ. With this, the TAJ extends its grand luxury palace experience to the city of Jodhpur.

Fabulous experience
Our stay at Umaid Bhawan Palace could not have been better. We had a great experience in all aspects. Service was impeccable, food amazing and the facilities beautiful. We especially enjoyed getting to know Karan and Rudresh in the restaurant and appreciate their hospitality and attention to detail. This is one of the greatest hotels in the world and we look forward to our next visit.

We loved our stay at Umaid Bhawan Palace. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with warmth, grace, and genuine hospitality that made us feel truly special. A heartfelt thank you to Swaroop and Surendra, whose kindness and constant attentiveness made every interaction memorable. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and made our stay feel deeply personal. Special appreciation as well to Ms. Jakhang for her professionalism and thoughtful care. The palace itself is breathtaking, but it is the people who bring it to life.
