About the Hotel
Perched high above the desert capital of Jodhpur, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the last of the great palaces of India and one of the largest private residences in the world – set amidst 26 acres of lush gardens. Designed by renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester, the palace is a blend of eastern and western architectural influences. Its majestic 105 – foot high cupola is influenced by the Renaissance, while the towers draw inspiration from Rajput tradition. The lavish interiors with gilt furniture and elegant artwork follow the Art Deco style, complemented by the exotic murals by the self-exiled Polish artist Stefan Norblin. In 1997, the palace was converted into a luxury hotel, and is now managed by TAJ. With this, the TAJ extends its grand luxury palace experience to the city of Jodhpur.

Above and beyond
Amazing property and staff. Everyone goes above and beyond. Too many names to remember but one young lady was extremely helpful getting first aid for my spouse. Swaroop and Sikander were exceptional. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Hospitality at its very best
We stayed in the Royal Suite. The suite is large and very well decorated & definitely not overdone. The palace is majestic and every part of it is carefully designed & well maintained. The courtyards, the lobbies, the lawns &the restaurants are each gorgeous. Facilities including the spa & the pool are also nice. The hospitality, which is the combination of Rajasthani royalty & Taj is simply outstanding. We felt welcomed & valued right from arrival till our very departure. Each & every member of the staff is very courteous. All in all, a very memorable stay.
