Perched high above the desert capital of Jodhpur, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the last of the great palaces of India and one of the largest private residences in the world – set amidst 26 acres of lush gardens. Designed by renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester, the palace is a blend of eastern and western architectural influences. Its majestic 105 – foot high cupola is influenced by the Renaissance, while the towers draw inspiration from Rajput tradition. The lavish interiors with gilt furniture and elegant artwork follow the Art Deco style, complemented by the exotic murals by the self-exiled Polish artist Stefan Norblin. In 1997, the palace was converted into a luxury hotel, and is now managed by TAJ. With this, the TAJ extends its grand luxury palace experience to the city of Jodhpur.

We had a genuinely wonderful stay at the palace in a beautiful room and stunning grounds. The service is top top quality, with special mentions to front of house SP and Raj, and for service Sikander and Karan. Would highly recommend this experience to everyone!

A wonderful memory to cherish! The complete stay from arrival to departure, the royal suit room, the food @ Risala can not be described altogether in words. It's an emotion for lifetime. Chef Shobhit, Deepanshi, Saadique, Sangram & Swaroop were awesome at their job and made our stay Royal & memorable. Thanks to complete Team.

We had a lovely time staying here. The property was beautiful and the staff was even better. They made sure all our needs were met. Our server at Risala Shashank was extremely professional and made sure our requests even off the menu were met. Out server at Pillers Guru was also extremely polite and professional. Lastly, Sikandar Ji was very professional and knew the palace like at the back of his hand. He gave us a wonderful tour of the palace and gave us insights about the history of the palace and the royal family

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty for our stay , Umaid Bhawan Palace is simply mesmerising ! We visited with Audley travel , visiting several top-tier Oberoi, Taj, and Leela hotels across India, and this Jodhpur palace was by far the grandest. As Architects we appreciated the classic English design and the senior manager Sika Sikandher gave us a personal tour . The trip coincided with my birthday and I was treated to balloons cake on the terrace which was so generous . The rooms particularly the beds were so comfortable , service, spa, and food that matched the best hotels that we stayed at in India. Peacocks strolling through the grounds Yoga at sunrise and a gorgeous pool paired with a location that was private yet close enough to the fort to make it effortless to sight see meant the stay was "simply the best"

We had a great visit with me Sikander singh taking us through the palace and sharing it’s history. The musicians singing happy birthday to my son was a highlight.
