We have been to many one&only hotels and I can tell this wasn’t one&only (Ember Beach Club) worth its name. We had a reservation at the Ember beach club but once we arrived at the gate they told us that they did not have our name on the list in the first place, 5 minutes later they told us they are fully booked and 5 min after that they said there was a private event so they are closed. The person in charge was very rude on the phone and said that we will get a call back and they will take a look to our reservation while we were waiting in front of the gate for 20 min with a baby! Never got a call back! They called the security and asked them to take a photo of the proof on my phone about the reservation and send it to the person in charge. After the 20 min someone came from O&O and invited to the restaurant of the hotel. We had lunch there explained to a few people which they understood and would dive in the situation. We sat for an hour ate lunch paid for it and let our self out and saw nobody afterwards which was quit odd after what happend. When you are a luxury 5 star hotel you should know how to handle certain situations but today they failed tremendously! We had plannend 3 days for Malaysia and today we wasted a day because the lack of professionalism. You can better avoid the beach club and go somewhere else. It’s not worth it. They need to learn how to handle guests. I wouldn’t recommend this place!

Absolutely fantastic. Quiet to the point of serenity (albeit we were there Jan 5-7 probably a quiet time for many places), staff, food and room all above and beyond. Some thoughtful touches and very enthusiastic and pleasant front of house staff.

A wonderful stay! We were abit apprehensive when we first booked the hotel as its reviews were mixed. But we had a really good experience at One & Only Desaru. The compound was beautiful and the service was attentive & warm. A big thank you to Brandon & Daniel for your warm hospitality! Our kids also enjoyed the Beach Club & Kids club. We highly recommend the resort if you are looking for a luxury stay at Desaru. We loved it and will be back if we are visiting Desaru again!

Great few days at the one and only. Staff couldn’t do enough to help, fantastic beach club and pools, enjoyed the afternoon tea and the size of the property is a little hideaway heaven. Special thanks to Intan Diamond, a little star and a credit to the Hotel. Friendly, great service and really looked after us. Beautiful rooms and a great relaxing break in between flights as only 90 minutes from Singapore airport. A great decision to stop off. Kids club took care of our teenage boys and they had plenty to do.

We drove up from Singapore for a quick 2-night weekend escape. No issue with the border crossings at Tuas, about 2 hours total drive to get to the resort on a Friday early afternoon. Villas are wonderfully spacious, breezy and well equipped. The beach is kept immaculate and cleaned daily in the early morning. Breakfast was a highlight, better than any 5-star hotel in Singapore. Nice selection of curated speciality buffet items rather than the boring standard fare, complemented by exciting complimentary a la carte options. Service was wonderfully friendly and competent. The only let down was the 5-minute soft boiled egg I ordered, which arrived totally hard-boiled.
