Nice resort. Food was not great. Staff was not very helpful and did not speak a lot of English. The faint stench of sewage was ever present and then confirmed by them turning cold water off a few times for a few hours so u couldn’t flush toilets. Mysteriously after a lot of guests left the sewage smell went away which suggested to me that when at full capacity their system could not handle the amount of sewage. Beach was ok. Flew westjet and you could never find our rep. We tried 3 times on different days and there are no info boards for pickup and activities. Overall by far not the worst trip but for what I paid with westjet should have been a lot better. And the planes were the swoop ones they acquired and the seats are uncomfortable as heck! My opinion go to Mexico!

Excellent service, delicious food, and a wonderful team! We hosted a group - a women's wellness retreat at the hotel, and it was the perfect setting. Everything was very well organized, and the entire experience was spectacular! We will most definitely be returning.

The ONLY down side to this hotel was the 1 1/2 hour transport to and from Puntacana Airport. The food was some of the very best I have ever had at a resort. The all-you-can-eat had high quality dishes that varied every meal. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. There are lots of healthy choices as well as plenty of opportunities to indulge. The Mexican specialty restaurant was so delicious too! The staff at this resort are INCREDIBLE! They served us quickly at every meal and every bar. They were also fun and playful . The rooms were spotless and the beach is stunning. We had no problems getting lounge chairs in the shade of gorgeous palm trees but there was also plenty of room on the expansive beach for those who wanted full sun. My sister and I really enjoyed a couple of massages from Ladys Hernandez and her team at the resort spa. The spa was clean and beautiful; the whole experience was so relaxing and reasonably priced.

The staff at Casa Hemingway is very professional and friendly; the grounds are beautiful and access to the beach and the Embarcadero restaurant was excellent. The reason for the 3 stars is the fact that the rooms are in need of maintenance. My room had an issue with the shower last night - there was a small electrical malfunction with the water heater that sounded like an explosion in the shower and left a terrible rotten egg smell in my the bathroom and the whole room (mind you I was showering when this happened). My husband reported the incident to reception immediately and at first it didn’t seem like anyone was concerned until I also went downstairs to report the issue in Spanish. An employee named Melvin was called and he was very helpful finally. He intervened and asked reception to change us to another room and even offered to help move our belongings. The room they moved us to was ok but the washer and dryer were not working - again the rooms need to be paid attention to. Melvin and the reception employee were once again apologetic and let me use another room’s washer/dryer in the meantime - they were trying to help but it’s not their fault that management is not investing in the maintenance of the rooms. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the staff is great but I am not sure the rooms are worth the hassle and inconvenience.

A great weekend getaway/birthday celebration. I would definitely recommend Casa Hemingway. The beds in this hotel were phenomenal. Had a wonderful, quiet stay at Casa Hemingway. The staff was amazing! Special shout out to the night manager who jumped into action when I frantically ran downstairs at 2:15 am to change our airport transport to 2:30 am from 3:30 am due to a canceled flight. My only negative comments are 1) the cost of airport transport should be on the website and posted in the rooms. Since it's a separate added charge it should be easier to find. 2) the buffalo wings in marinara sauce weren't a favorite. 3) there should be signs to point you to the beach. Fantastic stay at Casa Hemingway.
