Makena Surf UNIT F-206 is a dream

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

My group of 4 girlfriends stayed here for a weeklong golf and pickleball vacation in early December. This is an amazing rental unit as it is spotless and so tastefully updated. The carpets are brand new and the furnishings in great condition. The hosts have furnished the unit with all the comforts of home and you will want to spend all your time enjoying the wonderful views from the spacious lanai. Beach access pool, hot tub, gym and tennis/ pickleball courts are just steps away . Stunning golf courses are abundant in the local area. Check in and check out was seamless and hosts and management staff were all extremely helpful. Our stay in Makena Surf F-206 was a dream! We will definitely look forward to staying in F-206 again.

Price is high, quality is low

Smelly furniture, old kitchen appliances, rock-hard mattress- but the best view on Maui. Price has tripled in the 9 years we've stayed there, but they do not invest the money, they just keep taking, while the service goes down. Resort fee, 10% service fee, but only 2 cleanings in 9 days. Some people there still welcome with Aloha, but the Hyatt brand has stolen any hospitality this place used to have.

Beautiful Property!

Our 3 bedroom unit was great for our family of 6 plus a 1 year old. The unit was very comfortable and clean/quiet. Amazing location on the ocean with beautiful views - never need to leave. Sunsets on our lanai was spectacular. The pool was close by and convenient - the hot tub was excellently warm. There are two beaches a couple minutes walk away. The area of ocean right outside the unit is an excellent snorkeling spot - we saw many swarms of fish and turtles during our week here. Kitchen was well stocked. I wish Hyatt could provide Pack n Play or Cribs to borrow while here - none were in unit. The folding sofa bed was very difficult to fold - we needed to call the staff to come in and fold it.

A few hiccups, but an absolutely breathtaking location & wonderful property overall!

If you’re looking for p&q, this location is for you! Very few people on the beach, breathtaking views… nice & quiet - except for the construction being done on the pool. I completely understand renovation, but I wish I was informed beforehand, so that I could make an informed decision as to whether to select this property, or even hold off for another week or so. Again, the property was wonderful, staff was wonderful & it is an amazing location!

Beautiful location

Unit F104 is in a fabulous location, this is what you pay for. It’s quiet and away from people with 2 beaches. Unit could use some updating, especially the Master Bath which has very poor lighting and 90ish shower and vanity. My family of 6 had a great vacation in this remote, quiet unit. We rarely saw other people. Good area for snorkeling and turtle sightings. Thus could be a fabulous condo with the proper updates.
