Employees are professional and friendly. Check-in and check-out are very easy. The sportive equipments are appreciated. The restaurant inside is wonderful due to the quality of meals and desserts. I never ate so good in Germany. My stay here has been perfect.

Hyatt Regency Cologne is in need of a refurb. Dreadful online booking system caused us to book 3 rooms and not 2 as we wanted. Receptionist said we were the 3rd group of guests today with this problem. Plumbing is old and tired. Temperature on shower uncontrollable, basin slow to drain. Insufficient shower gel, shampoo left in room by housekeeping. Concierge was only service that was up to scratch.

The hotel is conveniently placed on the River Rhine opposite the Dom cathedral. It is convenient for business purposes and sightseeing and shopping. The Glasshouse restaurant is spectacular with changing views depending on the weather but even when the weather is poor the views across to the Dom remain central. The overall attentiveness of the staff is impressive and memorable. We would. choose wherever possible to stay at this hotel when visiting Cologne. The range of eating places is good and able to match differing needs effortlessly while the staff in the Legends bar never fail to provide an extensive list of cocktails, should they be needed.

The room was very nice. However, the front desk staff left a lot to be desired. When we arrived, there was nobody at the Elite Member desk. There were several days when our door key stopped working. One day we came back and our room wasn’t cleaned. At checkout there was someone at the Elite desk, but we were told to get in the regular line. It took 20 minutes because so many people were waiting to check out. We and multiple other guests had an issue getting out of the garage on multiple days, including on our last day. There were 4 cars behind us and none of the paid tickets worked. Thankfully we didn’t have a plane to catch. The people behind us did and they were seriously starting to panic when the second ticket we all went up to get still didn’t work. The 3rd ticket finally opened the gate. It literally took us an hour to get out of the hotel, which is completely ridiculous!!!

This hotel is dated and could use an upgrade, especially in the bathrooms, but everything works exactly as expected. Everything you need for a comfortable, luxurious stay, is provided and with excellent staff. You will not be disappointed staying here. You can also expect ridiculously expensive prices for food, so eat elsewhere, outside of the hotel, but apart from that it was great.
