The contrast between the deep tropical wood enveloping the villas at Conrad Koh Samui and the bright azure sea it overlooks is striking. From this hilly vantage point, surrounded by rainforest, guests preside over the famous Five Islands of Koh Samui. In the late 1800s, Koh Samui became a refuge for fishermen, sailors and sea traders seeking shelter from storms and high seas. "Samui," some say, is derived from the Chinese word "saboey," which means "safe haven". More than a century later, the exotic fruits and idyllic weather entice visitors to relax… and stay awhile.

We had a great time at this hotel. We have stayed at several hotels in Samui, and I would say this is the best one. The hotel is located at a corner of the island, so the view from the room is pretty nice—completely unobstructed. However, because the hotel is situated at a corner of the island, there’s pretty much no nightlife. Don’t expect to go out for a walk or get a beer after dinner. The kids may end up spending time on their iPads in the room after dinner. During the day, there are several activities that are quite interesting. I highly recommend joining the herbal ball making activity. I’ve tried herbal ball massages before but never knew what the balls were made of. Another activity worth joining is the farm trip. They mentioned that some of the food supply comes from their own farm. The kids enjoyed the trip, but honestly, it wasn’t for me—too many mosquitoes. As for the food, taste is very personal, so I won’t comment too much, but I would say the quality is okay. Lastly, the service. Before we arrived, I did some research and noticed that several reviews mentioned a manager named Hely. When we met her face-to-face, she is good, as well as we expected, a very detail-focused lady . I will say this hotel is 90 out of 100. Its very good but still room to improve.

We are writing this review with one night left, but Conrad Koh Samui is outstanding in every way and one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in across the globe. We stayed in room 305, a Five Islands Pool Villa that was phenomenally comfortable with an unbelievable view. Our housekeepers (Pat, Nam, and more) have been the best of the best leaving the room in pristine condition every day, and again after turndown service. The food is also incredible. Breakfast has an amazing variety and everything is unbelievably fresh thanks to the majority of it being sourced from Iris Farm on site. Lunch at Azure was great, but dinners at Aow Thai are what dreams are made of. The dishes are authentic, and as Marco (the GM) explained, tailored to local flavors instead of tourists’ pallets. It shows - I don’t know how we’re going to go back to Thai food in the U.S. after this. Martin was our server for two of the nights and was absolutely delightful. What sets the Conrad apart though, is the service. From ice water being delivered consistently to our pool cabana to hotel staff ensuring mosquitoes avoided us during the Iris Farm Tour, the staff went above and beyond in every way.

One of the very best resorts we have stayed at, during our 5 years in Thailand. Great location, fantastic staff at all levels, quality service and all round excellent facilities. We don’t usually do repeat visits, but would make an exception for this resort. Got to ‘know’ some of the staff, including a fellow Southern African and a Milan native who supports Juventus (!!!). And the fantastic and extremely helpful ‘buggy’ drivers who ferried us everywhere. With an evening flight, we also greatly appreciated the complimentary late check out at 4pm.

We are on our way back from a two week holiday at Conrad Samui, a resort we had chosen after a careful enquiry of the hotels offering in Koh Samui and in search for quietness and relaxation. Conrad fully met our expectations: spacious and secluded villas with stunning views on the Gulf of Thailand, diverse and high quality food at the resort three restaurants plus in-villa dining, very nice spa with expert practitioners ( we had the traditional Thai massage more than once!). The beach is small but well equipped and offers good opportunities for swimming and kayaking close to the reef. Above all, we truly appreciated the friendliness, professionalism and attention to service displayed by all the resort staff, always quickly receptive to our various questions and even anticipating our needs. Particular thanks to Nan, Minnie, Bank, Jolly and Jimmy among many others. We found that it is the combination of a unique location and a genuinely client-focused hotel team , that make Conrad Samui a special resort. We would readily recommend Conrad for couples ( like us) and familles alike. We would be happy to come back there.

I would have to say this resort hotel would have to be one of the best I have stayed in around the world. When you travel on holiday and just simply want an amazing experience this place just has it all. The rooms are breath taking with the infinty pool, The food and service was 1st class if not more and we couldn't fault a thing. My wife and I dinned in all 3 resteraunts which was a great variety including Thai, Mediterranean & a steak house. The main pool was great but to be honest we didn't leave our room the whole holiday apart from dinning and why wouldn't you as it just has everything you need to relax. Breakfast was amazing with so many choices and health options. Great Gym and fitness set up. The hotel growes their produce on site which you can visit an increadable set up. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave. We will be back and to all the staff and management thank you.
