The contrast between the deep tropical wood enveloping the villas at Conrad Koh Samui and the bright azure sea it overlooks is striking. From this hilly vantage point, surrounded by rainforest, guests preside over the famous Five Islands of Koh Samui. In the late 1800s, Koh Samui became a refuge for fishermen, sailors and sea traders seeking shelter from storms and high seas. "Samui," some say, is derived from the Chinese word "saboey," which means "safe haven". More than a century later, the exotic fruits and idyllic weather entice visitors to relax… and stay awhile.

It was the second time within 6months we stayed at this resort and to anticipate the outcome it was amazing and couldn’t have been better. Nan gave us the most heartwarming welcome at the airport Samui and after we arrived at the resort it didn’t stop. We called the villa 311 our home for the next several days with a welcome back door mat, individualized key cards and a sign with our names on the villa. I was moved to tears. Besides this extraordinary start the weather was favorable. Blue sky and the sun was shining. We decided to relax in the resort this time a bit more and enjoy the beautiful view to the 5 islands. The first evening we had dinner at the AOW Thai which replaced the former Zest restaurant. The food was very delicious and the view still catches us. This is also the restaurant one can have a very exceptional and versatile breakfast. Fresh smoothies, fruits, self smoked salmon, different dishes, tea and the best the best thing is that most of it did grew on their own farm IRIS. Definitely worth visiting!!! Besides the more than welcoming, friendly and amazing staff it was more than admirable that staff being there at our first stay recognized us and our ways (in terms of food, drinks etc). What we also love about this resort is the variety on activities one can schedule partially even complementary (Iris farm, coffee roasting,…). We scheduled the tea class as well as the Thai cooking class. It was overwhelming to see all the different kind of ingredients can be used to make tea. I did learn not to be afraid to mix some to get en even better taste. Thanks to Anne!! That was a lovely workshop that is definitely worth a recommendation. We decided before our arrival on what we would like to cook in the Thai cooking class and fun fact we had one of the dishes for dinner beforehand. The day of the Thai cooking class we met at the lobby to go the iris farm and pick our ingredients needed for cooking. The chef cook gave us a tour of the iris farm and explained also the challenges in cultivating all the different plants in the Samui weather. After we finished we went to the AOW Thai restaurant and firstly enjoyed the air conditioning a bit. Then we prepared everything for the dishes we chose - “Pad Thai Gai” and “Gaeng Kiew Wan Gai”. It was so much fun and our thanks goes to the staff supporting us during our cooking! After we cooked both dishes we ate them and even had a prepared dessert of sticky rice with Mango. Also very delicious. All round very satisfying and definitely worth booking. But also the water activities like going out on a jet ski was more than fun. Thanks you Fuse for the amazing time!!! Definitely something we will be doing again!! As we both like to eat steak as well we also went twice to Jahn and it was more than worth it. We had both times the Tartar as a starter and I haven’t had anything like it! As a main course we had Hokkaido A4 Sirloin as well as the Jack’s Creek Grain Tenderloin and all was exceptional as well as the bread, side dishes and the dessert. Okay basically everything we had was exceptional and so delicious. If one likes steaks the Jahn is a must do! Thanks to Chef cook rose for the excellent cooking. It was a pleasure!! More spontaneously was the pottery painting class we did. I have to say I’m not so talented when it comes to painting but we had so much fun and the even better part it can be taken home as a souvenir. That’s amazing!!!! Thank you for that opportunity. But having said all of the above that the people is what makes the difference we haven’t stayed in any other resort which made us feel like coming home. The personal contact is what makes this resort so special. I cannot list all and everyone but special thanks and recognition go to Neen, the bartenders at the KO Lounge, Chef Cook Rose, Chef Cook Chris, Brent and Marco of course. But most of my thanks go to Nan. She is amazing and such a warmhearted, brilliant and talented person and Conrad is so lucky to have her. She is the best!!!

Staying here for the second time in one year - arriving with high expectations, because our first stay was so incredible. At a glance - these expectations were topped this time. We were welcomed like friends coming home again. Starting with the cutest catchup at the airport we‘ve ever had and continued at the arrival at the property. There was a welcome back doormat and personalized keycards and our own villa sign at the door followed by very delicious food and wine. To be honest we were reminded immediately that it’s all about the people in this property. Thank you again Nan for this marvelous welcome :-) We stayed in Villa 311 which has an incredible view towards the 5 Islands and where you can enjoy the dreamy sunsets. During our stay we did some very nice classes - started with the tea class lead by Anne who showed us professionally how make tea with the different types of leaf. A must do at the hotel. Another must do is the Jetski - we met Fuse again - and after he advised us we went to the islands. So much fun! The massage is perfect for relaxing. We‘ve had the intensive oil massage which was incredible. When you are here - visiting Jahn is a must if you are into steaks. Rose prepared an unforgettable dinner to us. Something that changed compared to the last time was the ZEST restaurant - On the higher floor it now hosts the Aow Thai restaurant where you also have breakfast. The food is now on another level we would say. We tried cooking in the Thai Cooking Class - a wonderful experience to make the meal you ordered for dinner the evening before by yourself. If you are interested in Artist Things we can highly recommend the Pottery Painting Course. Did I forget something? Yes - the time because it went by so fast. As I said before - it’s all because of the people who work here. The culture is completely different of what we Europeans are used to. Even the General Manager Marco helped cleaning the dishes at the breakfast. We have to thank you again for hosting us! Thank you to Neen from the breakfast team for being so kind every morning, Fuse from the Jetski team for the fun we had, all of the KO Lounge Barkeepers for the great drinks we‘ve had, Anne sharing your knowledge of how to make teas with us, Brent and Marco for the chats and last but not least again to Nan who did an incredible job from moment we told her that we would coming back till the farewell. In our opinion she is more than a valuable asset for the Conrad Koh Samui and is really making a difference! Hope the management recognizes that there is a lot of potential! We are looking forward to see you all and what have changed again next year!

What a perfect birthday trip! Check-in was quick and seamless, and we were whisked to our room (304 – highly recommend, as it’s an easy walk to breakfast) right away. The views were absolutely incredible, the bed was very comfortable with an extensive pillow menu to choose from. The villas are spacious, private, and feature a fantastic-sized pool that always seemed to be at just the right temperature. While the room and bathroom showed a few signs of wear, the space was spotless and very well cared for—expected in a resort that isn’t brand new. The property itself is quite isolated, which is exactly the appeal. It’s also very steep, but carts always arrived within a couple of minutes whenever we needed a ride. Activities were great, with the farm tour standing out as a surprisingly interesting highlight. We didn’t spend much time at the beach due to rainy season, but it looked like an excellent spot with plenty of activities available. Breakfast was truly exceptional—one of the best I’ve ever had—with high-quality offerings, attentive staff, and enough variety throughout the week to keep things exciting. We only had dinner on property once, at AOW Thai, and it was excellent—something we regret not experiencing more often. The property itself is fantastic, but it’s the service that makes it truly special. Gratitude in particular to the team members: Ian made check-in warm and welcoming, Marco and Brent were attentive and visible leaders at breakfast, and housekeeping delivered an outstanding level of care throughout our stay. Great job team!

This is a beautiful hotel with surreal views from almost every location. The sunsets were an amazing way to end each day. We preferred staying here over the resorts on the east side of the island. The property has plenty of things to do and the free activities were a lot of fun and really unique compared to any other resort we’ve stayed at. We did the coffee roasting class, Thai herbal compress making, and inhaler making. The farm is also worth a visit as is the coffee shop which made some very impressive drinks. The breakfast buffet was excellent and well presented. The most memorable part of the trip was how helpful and kind the staff were to my family and our baby. Nan in particular was a gem, she is the kind of employee a hotel and guest dream of getting. She was the highlight of our stay always checking in on us to make sure we were happy and giving us tips about things to do. She made a teddy bear for our daughter with her name embroidered on it. To this day she loves this bear and calls it Conrad. We were really sad to leave and felt a connection to this hotel and the staff. Our stay here was so special that we plan on coming back so that the rest of our family can experience the magic we felt.
