Conrad Koh Samui

Even as a seasoned traveller that have travelled around most of the globe, one still finds the occasional "wow" accommodation - Conrad Koh Samui most certainly is one of those. Already when arriving at the resort, located a short 45 min, drive from Koh Samui airport, you feel that something special awaits you. Personal welcome - no long front office cues here - while sat in comfy lounge chairs overlooking the gulf of Siam. Your golf buggy swiftly takes you to your assigned private villa with stunning sea views and very modern, asian inspired interior designs. The villa's are huge - we stayed in a Sunset villa in the first villa-level from the ocean front, with beautiful nature and Seaview scenery and a direct view to the almost mythical looking 5 islands just off the coast. The service in the resort is absolutely flawless throughout - above and beyond - and every single team member you meet will greet you with the heartwarming "sawasdee". Also the cleanliness of the place is incredible and the villa attendants are true artists when it comes to towel folding skills. The resort is a bit "off the beaten track" - which to us is a tremendous plus. If you have your car or your scooter, it's easy to go wherever you feed like going. However we really did not feel like going to that many places - we had everything we needed in the resort. Well stocked wine / bar lists, restaurant with food to die for - the resort thai restaurant serves some of the best Thai food we have ever tasted and really mastered the balance of "spicy", "medium spicy" and "not spicy" to perfection. Furthermore, the resort has its own organic farm, originally designed and created by one of the resorts' former bellboys - open to visitors daily and well worth a visit - right outside the resort grounds, where they get about 70% of their daily fruits, veggies and eggs. They do not kill the animals. Speaking of animals - the resort caters to both vegetarians and vegans in an excellent way, in case one is that way inclined which was the case for one of us. The GM, Marco, is seen daily from early morning till late evening, chipping in with guest services in the restaurant, farm tours, small talking to his guests etc.. It is very obvious to us that he has set a very high standard for his team - and they really do live up to it - it is 5 star, without the stuffiness that can sometimes be encountered in such scenarios. It really struck us how much it feels like the entire resort team really WANTS this. They WANT their jobs - they seem genuinely proud of their resort and they WANT you to have the best time possible. I believe it's called dedication. The Spa in the hotel is lovely - of course more pricy that going to a street-spa, but that goes without saying - you pay for a total experience and for the ambience and of course for some tremendously good therapists as well. Also the free water sport activities such as paddle board and kayaks are a really nice touch - especially since the beach is not that big and sits behind a reef which is really shallow when it's low tide. But the beach never seemed crowded and the main pool and relaxation areas were ample, especially sinde each villa also has its own 10 m. infinity pool. We will definitely go back again and can highly recommend the place for both families and couples looking for something out of the ordinary at a surprising price level as well. We can only give a big shout-out to the entire resort team and thank them for giving us a wonderful and very memorable stay in Koh Samui

I can’t say enough about our experience at the Conrad Koh Samui. It was nothing short of unreal. This is where I proposed, and the team went above and beyond to make it absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless. Every detail was handled with care and genuine hospitality. The staff helped coordinate a private dinner on the beach, which felt like something out of a movie. Candles, ocean waves, and the most breathtaking sunset created the perfect backdrop. The spa and massage facilities were next-level. It was the perfect way to unwind and soak in the beauty of the island. We also had a floating breakfast in our private pool villa, which felt incredibly luxurious and peaceful. Every part of our stay, from the views to the service, exceeded expectations. The Conrad made one of the most important moments of our lives feel even more special. We’ll remember it forever. The only thing I would change is having to leave. I wish we could have stayed forever. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate love, relax in true luxury, or experience paradise, this is it.

This is a late review, but I hope you will find it helpful if you can't decide whether to stay at this property. Let me start off saying that this is one of my dream hotels and they really exceeded my expectations. There were a few minor hiccups that don't deter your trip. At first, I was reluctant to stay during the outbreak due to lowered ratings. After the reviews were raised years later, it was a good sign for me to visit. Before making a reservation, keep in mind that Conrad Koh Samui may not be for travellers who prefer to party or expect a swimmable beach. The area is secluded on a cliff with minimal beach area and rocky sea. Other fun activities are provided in return. What you get in return is a scene of wonders from the cliff on the south-west ocean and a few neighbouring islands as a backdrop, private pool peering out to the ocean, impeccable staff service from all sides. A few weeks before the trip, the concierge staff contacted me asking for all kinds of preferences and airport pick-up to make my trip more comfortable. All of the points were quickly addressed when I arrived. Props to Khun Wanida and her team for being so attentive to my requests! At the airport, I was welcomed by the staff with snacks, chilled drinks, and one of the best coconut water that I've ever tasted. I was never a fan of coconut water, but this one completely changed my mind. The trip from the airport is almost an hour long. Upon checking in, I was greeted with butterfly pea flower tea and a refreshing towel before being escorted on a golf cart to my villa. The property is huge; always make a call to ask for a buggy ride. Opening my villa, I was stunned by how everything looked. It looks exactly like what you see on the photos, and if not better in person. Drinking water is well-stocked, welcome fruits are provided, and to top it off, your nightly turnover, trivia cards and some good-night snacks. A beach bag and an extra pillow are also provided. The private pool is always comfortable to swim in since the outside is mostly sunny. Unfortunately, the night light pool in my villa was very dimly lit, making it dangerous to swim at night. It was a bit of a letdown since I was looking forward to having a night lap of swimming. Also, a group of ants was gathering around the bathroom basin. It was justified, seeing the weather was about to storm. Speaking of food, I only dined at their Thai restaurant named Zest. The food price is indeed steeper compared to other hotel restaurants. A round trip from the hotel to the local markets can be pricey, so dining in is a better option. The food was great, amazing night atmosphere and very attentive waitstaff. Make sure to chill out at the Ko Lounge afterwards! Buffet breakfast was varied; there should be enough menus for everyone's liking and also the raw ingredients come from their own eco-farm. Champagne and soft ice cream are also available for breakfast if you feel like it! Their main pool and down to the beach are well-kept with cozy atmosphere. There's even chilled house music playing around the beach, which I really like. There are enough beach beds and different types of chairs as well, making every part Instagrammable. The only thing I felt strange about was that there were no staff giving you drinking water like other places. I have to go to the pool's restaurant to ask for one. Learning that the spa provides guest's complimentary steam room and sauna for a period of time, I had to try it out. The spa room was top-notch. Modern and relaxing in all senses. Seeing the ocean through the sauna room is something to remember, and their amenities are high quality. Big comfy sofa, water and snacks are provided in the relaxing lounge. I would highly recommend if you have enough time to spend around the spa. I'm not a gym person, but they do have a variety of machines to choose from. Always clean and cool with stacked refreshments and fruits 24 hours. Everything seems to be well-maintained. Overall, I had a great time at Conrad Koh Samui. The place is not cheap at all, but it is worth the value since you do get a once-in-a-lifetime view, amazing room, attentive staff, beautiful stress-free environment and delicious food. Our family of 4 stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view villa at the Conrad for 6 nights. We had an incredible stay. The villa is spacious, immaculately kept and with all the comforts we required. The villa is serviced daily, with a turn down service each evening. There was always a little treat left which is a lovely touch to come back to. The best feature of the villa was the infinity pool. Having our own pool to relax and swim in throughout the day was fabulous. To get around the resort, there is a buggy service. The staff are always so happy and efficient. Most days we only wait a few minutes for a buggy. The morning breakfast buffet was amazing. A great variety and selection of food. The staff were always offering us extra items and sections. The lovely touch at breakfast was that Marco, the general manager or his team were always at hand to have a chat and give recommendations of activities and the local area. We dined at all the onsite restaurants and can highly recommend Jahn. It was a lovely dining experience. We also did the Thai longboat experience to pig island and snorkelling. My son and husband also did the JetSki experience which they thoroughly enjoyed. We loved our stay at the Conrad and will definitely be back. It’s the ultimate family holiday where service was wonderful and the staff always ensuring our expectations were being met.

Stayed at the Conrad KS for our anniversary. The property is beautiful with incredible views. At check in, the host was quick to remind us of the no drone and no durian policy. I highly appreciated this. The highlight was the service. Marco (GM) and Chris (Exec Chef) arranged a private tour of Iris farms to pick the vegetables for our cooking class led by Jimmy. Brent, Ying, Neen, and Nok took care of us for every meal, including pre-calling a buggy to take us back to our room. Boom and his colleague did a great job teaching us all about coffee and teas. The hotel is private enough (approx ~200 guests at peak), such that the gym classes were basically private lessons with Tekno. My suggestions for the future: Add more classes such as Pilates. Market the eco friendliness/environmental sustainability of the hotel. The hotel grows its own food, recycles materials for use on the farm, and roasts its own coffee that's produced in Chiang Mai. The Conrad KS stands out amongst the many Thai resorts out there. We were blown away by the service and will be going back.
