Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong

My husband and I stayed only one night on our way back from Vietnam on the way to Switzerland. We booked a room with a Hong Kong Island view in advance. Our flight was delayed and we came late abd tired. The front desk officer Mr Felix Young not only checked us in quickly and smoothly but found a way to surprise me ( for my birthday week) and gave us an amazing luxury suite with fantastic views from was of 3 rooms. I was able to rest and address my important emails in the morning fully recovered. Thank you!

When we go long haul and arrange a few days stopover in a major city we always tend to choose Shangri La hotels. Our experience had been perfect until we booked the Shangri La in Kowloon. We always book an Horizon Club room and take our breakfasts there and join the evening canapé and free alcohol events in the early evening. The Shangri La had always put an age restriction on attendance which barred young children spoiling what is a very adult event. How it seems that the Shangri La in Kowloon has ignored these restrictions and allowed children of a very young age to join this event and exercise their vocal cords to the full. Hopefully not all hotels in the chain have adopted such leniency otherwise we will not be staying with them again.

The room had excellent harbor view and the buffet offered great variety of delicious items. Amber Lee - the guest relation manager - extended a warm welcome to us during check-in. She was patient in listening to our needs and helped us tremendously in preparing some gifts for our friends in Hong Kong. She demonstrated genuine commitment in assisting her hotel guests to the best of her ability. I even received a follow-up call from her the next day asking how we were doing so far. Kudos to Amber!

A nice hotel but starting to show its age in the rooms. Booked a Horizon Club Victoria view room. The view from the room was amazing at Level 17 to Victoria Harbour. Horizon Club was great and service very good. We booked in at a peak time so everything was very busy - lobby, breakfast, lounges etc. Room was large & great views. Furniture in the room had alot of scratches, dents etc. & walls alot of scuff marks. Shower pressure was excellent and linen/pillows were high quality. Housekeeping was very good. This hotel is very close to East Tsim Sha Sui so easy if you are using the MTR.
