About the Hotel

Rayavadee is situated in the heart of Krabi's beautiful Phranang Peninsula on the border of Krabi Marine National Park, an area renowned for its natural beauty and rich flora, fauna and marine life. When the resort was built more than two decades ago, it was with the idea of living in balance within this unique environment. The accommodation was constructed to nestle in between the property's many trees, none of which were cut during the process, in order to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. With the resort's low-key approach to building, the habitat of the area's many varieties of birds and animals was not disturbed. In addition, we employ a number of practices to reduce the negative impact on our surroundings with a focus on sustainable water and waste management as well as energy efficiency.

Reviews for Rayavadee Resort

Beautiful hotel but overpriced food/excursions

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

We had a very relaxing stay at Rayavadee. The grounds of the resort are absolutely stunning and the 'rooms' are actually small two storey buildings that are very comfortable and well designed. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. The only thing that put a dampner on the trip for us was the price of food, drink and excursions at the resort. There aren't many other options nearby so we did end up eating most of our meals onsite. The prices are at least 2 or 3x more prices for Thailand, and more than we would even expect to pay in the UK. For example, one Pad Thai was THB790 (£17), a couple of bottles of sparkling water at dinner cost over £10 (no free water options). Our meal at the Grotto cost £240 for 3 courses and 2 cocktails. The food was no where near the best we had in Thailand. We ended up booking a local provider for a private excursion as Rayavadee were charging more than double the local provider for a shorter excursion. We expect to pay a premium for being in a luxury resort but the level of overpricing left a bad taste in our mouth - we've stayed at luxury resorts all over Asia and South America and never seen prices like this. I'm not sure we would come again on this basis.

Tasteful hotel, impeccable services

Absolutely memorable stay. Rayawadee is my favorite hotel in Thailand, and the quality of service never fails to impress me everytime. The decor and interior design is extremely elegant and tasteful, combining different styles and inspiration from all over the globe highlighting our tropical asian heritage. Garden landscape, walk ways, brings me back to Henri Rousseau’s paintings. I never want to leave.

Lovely staff, attentive and respectful

About an hour transfer from Krabi airport by 40 mins minibus and 20 mins boat, and because the tide was out, by tractor and trailer up the beach! Rooms were spacious two story suites, we didn’t have a pool, but some do. Fully air conditioned and a welcome break from the heat and humidity. So you are effectively in your own part of the ground making it very quiet and peaceful. Pool area was clean and spacious with a nice area overlooking the beach. Loungers, towels, cold water and ice lollies were provided. All the restaurants on site were really good offering a nice variety of food. The Grotto definitely one for a special night out, get there before sunset for some stunning photos. We had the seafood platter to share which was delicious. The Krua Phranang is more Thai specialised and was probably the best food we had. What makes the place special are the staff. So polite, helpful and welcoming. Our room was spotless and there was a turndown service each evening. Towels etc were replaced as often as needed. In the restaurants and bars they quickly got to know you and where you like to seat and what to drink. All helps you feel special. The beaches are shallow, sandy and safe (no patrols) with canoeing and boarding if desired. Sunset on Railay beach is beautiful and you can also take boats out to see the islands. There is some great wildlife. 3 different troups of monkeys (some cuter than others!) some pretty impressive lizards, massive snails, even a tortoise!

A PARADISE

We stayed in the hotel 5 days , we have the feeling that we were in paradise. We never forget this amazing resort . The landscape and architecture create the feeling that we are in the place that we dreamed to find. The staff was so friendly and the service in all departments was more than perfect.
