Location - excellent short walk from C town, Room - perfection. New, clean and everything functional as described. Views are beautiful. Bathroom and products are outstanding. Pool and Spa - simply the best pool and spa area I have ever seen. Pool water was warm! V calm.

Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is a stunning property. The rooms are spacious and well-designed, the bed is comfortable, the Le Labo amenities are a thoughtful touch, and the city views are amazing. Breakfast was fantastic with a generous spread across Malaysian, Chinese, Indian and Western options (buffet and a la carte options). The heated pool was a pleasant surprise. Location wise, is close to chinatown but is not pedestrian friendly. Where the hotel falls short is in service. For a brand that promises “luxury is personal,” the experience felt more like a well-run checklist than a personalized stay. There was no pre-arrival outreach, no escort to the room, and staff knowledge was inconsistent when asked simple questions. Everything was delivered correctly, just not warmly. Dinner at Merdeka Grill is worth considering for the view alone, and Chef Marcus Ooi is very kind. That said, the food doesn’t quite match the price point, and KL has strong dining alternatives at that spend. Overall, a very good hotel that I would return to, with the hope that the service catches up to the quality of the space.

Was there for lunch, Grill Restaurant floor 75! View is not the best because opposite side of Twin Towers. Table was unstable and lot of movement around, grill site open, so dont expect a quiet table...food is good but stuff allways running around, and air condition not working well...I dont go back...

I had a two night stay at the recently opened Park Hyatt KL. To be honest, it had originally been for six days, but I shortened it due to some negative reviews I had read. This was in combination with some very positive experiences at the other Hyatt properties in KL, which charged half of the price or less. The stay was better than I expected though, with many strong points, but two nights was about enough compared to some of the alternatives. Check in was somewhat disappointing, as room was not available at the stated 3pm time, and was not ready until sometime after 4pm. Was brought to a waiting lounge, which doubled as the Cacao bar. I was told there were refreshments, i.e. coffee, tea, and pastries. I asked for sparkling water since it was a warm day, but was told it would have to be charged. I wanted to order a glass of wine at the bar; the bartender let me look at the list but told me they were not open for service until 5. Alrighty then. The room initially assigned was a king corner upgrade with a view of KLCC, per the front desk clerk. Later when a different staff member came to bring me to the room, she mentioned they had to give me a different corner king due to some technical issues, and that I wouldn't have a view. First off, that's fine--I probably wouldn't have noticed/minded the difference. But to bring it up made me think of it as a downgrade somehow. Management if you’re reading: please train your staff not to do this; it was honest and well-intended, but reflected poorly. A bumpy start, but otherwise the stay was perfectly fine. Getting upstairs to check in is a bit circuitous from the entrance. You go from the ground floor to a landing either by escalator or elevator, then from the landing up to the 75F lobby. There is a large area for reception, with the entrance to the Park Lounge (the general restaurant where breakfast and an all-day menu is served) next to the Concierge desk. Going around the circle the other way is the waiting area/Cacao cocktail bar, and beyond that is the Merdaka Grill seafood/steakhouse restaurant. I was told that there would be a fine dining concept on the top floor (114), but that it was not open yet. The hotel is located on floors 100 to 112. I was given a room on the bottom floor…but who are we kidding. It’s still the 100th floor—wild to be up that high, and the view is understandably amazing. The room itself was spacious with some cool touches but some oddities. The closet was nice, with plenty of space. Two sinks in the bathroom, a sizeable shower and then a bathtub with a view of the city. The bedroom had high ceilings and a nice view out to Merdaka Square and Brickfields. Can I say it again? It really is something being that high up. There is a cozy nook off to the side with a seat and ottoman, where one can sit and chill, look out the window, read a book, and just...relax. The quirky things: the only A/C control is at the entrance, with nothing closer to the bed, so a bit of a walk in the dark at night if one gets uncomfortable with the temperature (which ran a little on the cold side for me, even at 24C—I ended up with a cold during my entire stay there). The light settings were all a bit dim besides for the bright setting; medium seemed like what one would call relaxed, and relaxed was a night light for all intents and purposes. The big negative for me: the WC. The toilet is close to the wall, and for anyone but a tiny person, there is a tray over the toilet paper that juts into your shoulder when you are sitting down with your affairs, unless you're sitting upright. The kind of thing that makes you go: what were they thinking? Poor design, and something that doesn't seem easily fixable. The facilities and staff are what make this property shine. The gym is huge and well appointed, and was empty when I went in. The pool was something else as well, with a view out from the 99th floor, although it was bit crowded with families on the day I went (a Saturday afternoon). The spa is comfortable and somewhere one could relax for a few hours; sauna, steam room, large hot bath, and quiet seats where one can look out on the city. For food and beverage options, the Park Lounge and Merdaka Grill’s menus were perfectly fine. Plenty of choices, and tasty—just really pricey compared to the outside world. Cacao the cocktail bar has a chocolate themed menu. Seemed strange to me to cater specifically to a sweeter palate. But they did have a full complement of other choices. This was the one outlet where it seemed there might be more outside than in-house guests. Although I might have been reading into things a bit, because it's not easy to get here by anything but car. Let's just say one strongly feels gilded cage syndrome. The neighborhood is not particularly walkable, even though you can see Chinatown right below you from the rooms. The Merdaka 118 building also feels mostly unoccupied apart from the hotel , so there’s nothing in the immediate vicinity. The nearest public transit option (MRT, LRT) stops don’t seem to be convenient or open yet, so your best bet to get anywhere is Grab. Grab also happens to be the best option for food delivery if inertia sets in (see: gilded cage). Hopefully these things will improve over time (transit options/nearby attractions). The biggest positive for me was the restaurant staff. Peter the somm at Merdaka Grill is an affable local native, knowledgeable with overseas experience, who takes the time to walk through the wine list with you. Keeti (?) the bartender at Cacao is friendly and communicative, and picked out a nice regional gin for me to try. Last but certainly not least, Sonia at the Park Lounge is a sweetheart; I can say she was the warmest and most genuine server I’ve met over my last two years of travel to 20+ countries. The PH has a real gem, and the guests are lucky to be in her care. Given the QPR, I’m not sure if it’d be my first choice in KL, but for a splurge I’d come back. And hopefully by then, things will be further developed out.

Two weeks ago, we had lunch at the Park Lounge restaurant at Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. It was a wonderful opportunity and an unforgettable experience to enjoy the Kuala Lumpur view from the 75th floor of Merdeka 118. This restaurant is the highest place to have lunch in KL at the time. The staff were very helpful and kind to everyone. Special thanks to supervisor Wei Liang, who gave us the opportunity to enjoy the most iconic view of central Kuala Lumpur from a very special place — the VIP room of the restaurant.
