The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur

I don’t understand why the Marriott group categorizes this hotel as a Ritz-Carlton. You can stretch the definition of “luxury,” but this place is anything but a RC level. The rooms are old and outdated. The TV screens in the bedrooms look like they’re from the year 2000, with pixels so bad it’s hard to watch anything. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite that smelled musty, with old furniture and dirty carpets—none of which you’d expect from a Ritz-Carlton, which should be Marriott’s premium brand. At the pool, even simple dishes like chicken nuggets or French fries took 45 minutes to prepare. Check-in was equally poor: no proper greeting from front desk staff—no “hello” or “welcome to our hotel.” They just demanded our passports immediately, even though there was no queue. I don’t get this behavior. Overall, the hotel isn’t up to standard. It needs real changes in management and major upgrades.

My partner and I recently travelled from London to Kuala Lumpur ahead of island hopping to Koh Lipe and Langkawi. Staying at the Ritz Carlton in KL was the prefect start to our trip providing us with luxury accommodation in the heart of Bukit Bintang. Unfortunately my partner was unwell for a couple of days during our visit and I felt safe and comfortable venturing out solo exploring such places as the KLCC where the Petronas towers are situated and the Eco park canopy walk. The hotel is connected to the shopping mall perfect for keeping in the cool during the hottest times of the day! The location is great for visiting all the greats Kuala Lumpur has to offer either by foot or metro. The staff at The Ritz Carlton were incredibly helpful and efficient and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐

Masu assisted us during our stay and made our first visit to Malaysia very enjoyable. We will be back! The hotel is pristine and staffed adequately.

The location is central and convenient. The rooms were well appointed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. However, the food was not good and the pace and efficiency of the servicing staff at the restaurant was not spectacular. Also, there seemed to be a lot of wasted space in the hotel. Which I realize is a weird thing to say in a review but the entire hotel was just feeling tired…It could do with a refresh. Though it was clean it was not to the standard I expected from Ritz-Carlton.

Have stayed in the appartments for many years now. Not cheap but now this place is really bad. We have had white ants. Leaky dishwasher no hot water and the steam bath in spa is really bad. Also the pool is closed for maintenance this may be my last time here
