Reviews for Nayara Gardens

Outstanding Service, beautiful property and relaxing atmosphere!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 13 hours ago

My 2nd visit (stayed Nov 22 for 6 nights) and I stayed 8 nights in one of their recently gutted/rebuilt casitas. The plunge pool was amazing and addictive with a great view of the volcano. Pool/porch are as they appear in online pictures, probably a bit bigger. Service remains outstanding and consistent throughout the resort. They also added a 3rd spa in the tents with outdoor treatment rooms (Andres was great). Property is beautiful with frog ponds, sloths, monkeys and more. Food quality/variety seemed to be a bit less than previous visit (though still good with choice and ambience) and the construction noise dampened my ability to fully enjoy my private plunge pool and the small pool at Gardens. One thing to note is that pools/restaurants/bars were almost empty despite property being at 90% (a positive in my mind). Overall relaxing experience, not a party one, and the manger Luis went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcomed, looked after and happy. It is clear he cares about every guest's experience. Looking forward to planning a 3rd visit.

Dreamy!

On our third trip to Costa Rica, I knew we wanted to stay someplace really special. I did research for days trying to find lodging that met my criteria: casual, upscale, comfortable, air conditioned, onsite dining, and quiet with opportunities for wildlife viewing. After making reservations at three other properties I discovered Nayara. After reading scores of reviews I knew I had found just the right lodging and canceled my previous bookings. We stayed at Nayara Gardens for 4 nights and were entirely delighted with our stay. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are three separate lodgings here which all flow from one to the other. Although they are separate facilities guests don’t “feel” that separation. You can enjoy the extensive paths and make reservations at the restaurants in any of the three areas. We particularly enjoyed Asia Luna in Nayara Gardens and Ayla (Mediterranean) in the Tented Camp. La Terraza was the location where our expansive breakfast buffet was served featuring omelets, pastries, typical Costa Rican dishes, oatmeal, French toast, fruit, bacon, pancakes and more. La Terraza is directly connected to the reception area for Nayara Gardens. Upon checking in, the valet will park your vehicle if you have driven to the lodge, while a very helpful employee will explain procedures, provide a map and answer any questions you may have. Be prepared to choose what time you prefer housekeeping to service your room. Nayara Gardens allows children (Nayara Springs does not) but we never experienced any noise or unruly little ones, in fact, the entire Nayara property felt private and remote. We wondered if we should have chosen the Tented Camp area but after walking the resort, we were very glad we stayed in Nayara Gardens. It is extremely well-located and much more convenient than the Tented Camp while still offering peace and privacy. La Terraza, Asia Luna and the reception area were mere steps away, about a two minute walk, so also easy to access our car. We spoke to a couple staying in the Tented Camp who loved their accommodation but remarked that it was rather inconvenient. We stayed in Casita C11 and we appreciated the location between the two bridges where sloths and birds are easy to see. The room was extremely spacious and comfortable, and the air conditioning is a marvel in the warm humid environment. Tap water is drinkable and housekeeping refills glass bottles each day so no need to bring your own water. There is a small fridge to keep drinks cold with mini-bar snacks. We loved the layout of the room where the sleeping space overlooking Arenal was separated by a large wall from the bathroom. The bedroom area had a comfortable armchair, a large desk, and 2 daybeds perfect for reading or napping. The mattress was extremely comfortable and the room was spotless. In the bath area, there were 2 sinks, indoor and outdoor showers, 2 large armoires, a water closet and a safe plus robes and slippers. Dominating the room is the view of the rainforest and Arenal in the distance. The private plunge pool was wonderful and the double lounger, hammock and small table were well-used during our visit. If you are interested in birds, you will see numerous feathered friends from your deck including parrots, tanagers, mot-mots, and many varieties of hummingbirds. It is humid and warm here, as expected, so come prepared with a light raincoat. Each room is stocked with large umbrellas and the deck had a ceiling fan for added comfort. As for the staff, they were all excellent: friendly, helpful and always smiling. No one ever frowned or seemed unhappy to be working at Nayara, in fact, just the opposite. They all showed guests extremely pleasant demeanors even though their jobs can be difficult with very long hours. We especially want to mention Juan Carlos at Asia Luna where we were privileged to eat three delicious dinners. His level of service and demeanor were highlights of our stay, and I can’t say enough about the efforts he made to ensure our dining experiences were perfect so thanks to him for going the extra mile. I celebrated a milestone birthday during our visit and was surprised to return to our room one day and find a card, balloons and Brut: so thoughtful! The entire property is gorgeous and just walking the paths provided us with hours of enjoyment, only exceeded by the exceptional staff. I have reviewed over a thousand properties and I consider Nayara to be in my top five. It’s a dream!

Amazing Hotel!!

This is by far one of the nicest resorts I have ever stayed at. Not only is the property stunning, the restaurants are great and most importantly the staff is incredibly kind and attentive to all of your needs. Anytime we needed something the staff was there to help. They truly made our stay special and made us feel like we were the only ones at the resort. 10000/10 experience!

The most amazing resort I have ever been to in my life! The staff was warm and over the top helpful!!!! Beautiful place. Would love to come back and bring all my family. The food was spectacular and the golf cart guys went out of their waay to spot animals in the rainforest. Our room was clean and the treats at night were wonderful. I loved the outdoor shower and our own private pool

Phenomenal experience. I worked for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts for many years and thus have stayed at many of the world's most luxurious accommodations. Nayara is on par with the best of the best, with the added benefit of an independent feel and an authentically *Tico* touch. Honestly, the photos do not do it justice. We stayed three nights and didn't want to leave. The staff/service were BEYOND, continuously exceeding expectations -- and also just wonderful, genuine human beings. Shoutout to Jazmin at the front desk for making our experience especially memorable. The sense of detail and design in every corner of the sprawling property are bar none. The sustainability efforts are thoughtful, without ever cutting corners on luxury. The breakfast buffet is incredible. Honestly, I've always rolled my eyes at the people who never leave their hotel when traveling, yet I would have been thrilled to do just that!!! If this is a splurge for you and you're debating whether or not to stay here, let me tell you: it is worth every penny and then some. Don't think, just book!!!
