Reviews for Six Senses Laamu

A Paradise Beyond Imagination

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 hours ago

From the moment we touched down at Six Senses Laamu, we were enveloped in a realm of unparalleled luxury and natural beauty. This resort epitomizes the essence of Maldivian paradise with its pristine surroundings, impeccable service, and a commitment to sustainability that resonates throughout the property. Arrival and First Impressions: The journey began with a scenic flight over the breathtaking atolls of the Maldives in a water plan in the shape of a turtle that sets the tone for barefoot luxury. Accommodation: Our overwater sunset villa was a dream come true. Spacious, beautifully designed with natural materials, and offering unobstructed views of the Ocean, it was a sanctuary of tranquility. The villa featured a private deck with direct access to the lagoon, an outdoor shower, perfect for unwinding while watching the sunset. The attention to detail, from the luxurious linens to the eco-friendly bath products, was impressive. Especially the pillow menu with the fragrances every night were amazing. Dining: Dining at Six Senses Laamu is an epicurean adventure. Each restaurant offers unique and delightful experiences, from the beachfront Longitude with its international cuisine to the overwater Zen, where we savored exquisite Japanese dishes. The highlight was the Asian street food market with Indian options, satay and dosas. The bottomless Ice cream bar was a whimsical treat. Activities and Amenities: There is no shortage of activities to keep guests entertained. We indulged in snorkeling and diving excursions, exploring the vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life. The surf sessions by Josh and Fiona were arranged to every detail, with multiple breaks around there were options for both out levels, beginner and advanced. The team was ready with boats, coaching and a great quiver selection. The spa treatments were heavenly, providing ultimate relaxation in a serene setting. Especially Kim and karma did an amazing session. The Yoga sessions, massage workshops and meditation sessions helped us ground. Sustainability: Six Senses Laamu’s dedication to sustainability is commendable. From their on-site organic garden and zero-waste philosophy to their marine conservation efforts, it was heartening to see a luxury resort making such a positive impact. Taking of your shoes from moment one is a good start. The gardening team does an amazing job in managing the jungle and beaches, it looks amazing while protecting wildlife. Service: The service at Six Senses Laamu is exemplary. The staff were not only professional and attentive but also genuinely warm and friendly. Our GEM (Guest Experience Maker) Shah went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect, from arranging personalized experiences to surprising us with thoughtful gestures and little gifts. Conclusion: Six Senses Laamu Maldives is more than just a resort; it is a haven where luxury meets sustainability, and every moment is infused with wonder. Whether you seek adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, this slice of paradise offers an unforgettable experience. We left with hearts full of memories and a longing to return to this exquisite sanctuary. If you are dreaming of the ultimate Maldivian getaway, look no further

We chose Six Senses Laamu as the final destination on our honeymoon, with the aim of enjoying the essence of the Maldives to the fullest and it certainly exceeded our expectations! This hotel and wonderful team not only allow you to live the ultimate luxury in one of the most desired places for a few days of rest, but also gives you the opportunity to enjoy nature to the fullest, with a full menu of activities and experiences, being for them sustainability a basic pillar. I wanted to make a special mention to Fahudh, for his excellent treatment and special attention during our stay. Congratulations to the whole team for their excellent work and daily effort. A mind blowing experience

My wife and I decided to visit Maldives this year to celebrate our anniversary and spent four nights in Six Senses Laamu. To be honest I was having second thoughts about Six Senses Laamu even after I made the reservation - despite all the glowing comments and reviews you can easily find online about SSL, is it the right choice for us, who prefer indoor comfort over outdoor fun? Or should we opt for other resorts with modern, urban, sophisticated decor such as Four Seasons and St Regis, where I can get extra treatments and benefits for being a premier status of their respective hotel groups? The truth is, at least for us, our stay at SSL turned out to be way better than suspected, and we very much enjoyed the rustic luxury and wellness experience associated with and expected of Six Senses. They say variety is the spice of life. This is also true of our stay at SSL. Every hour of every day, I feel delighted in just so many different ways in this resplendent resort - feeling at home and peaceful and feeling exotic and adventurous at the same time. On one sunny afternoon I took the sunset fishing trip and learned how to catch fish via handlining. I lucked out with a humpback red snapper and was surprised to know that a chef would prepare and cook the very fish for my next day lunch free of charge, which tasted so good - a double pleasure indeed! On one stormy afternoon I took a nap in the SPA with a 90-min facial. The whirling of wind and pattering of rain, the chirping of birds and roaring of waves, blended with the calming aroma of organic skincare products, somehow worked in harmony to create the ultimate serenity and doubtless tamed the stress from my long haul flight down here. Our GEM, Fahudh, as well as other staffers from various departments, including the ones at the two airports in Male, took very good care of us. Activities were amazing, foods were amazing, room cleaning and turn down were amazing. The private-ish transfer with the Flying Turtle is another example of Six Senses personalized luxury that flushes me with giddy excitement! There are simply so many nice things to say about SSL. But I will stop here and leave you to explore this paradise and find out by yourself.

Paradise on earth

We (a family of 4) have just had the most amazing trip of our lives. If there is a paradise on earth, this is it. The hotel looks after the environment and has great respect for the locals. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are outstanding. Our own GEM shah was the sweetest and most helpful person and always with a smile. We will miss it all. Thank you Six Senses Laamu for an experience we will never forget.

Paradisiacal holidays, relaxation and turtles

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Wow! We spent a few days holidaying in Maldives, specifically Six Senses Laamu and we are delighted with our choice. It is home to a stunning coral reef, I can't get the image out of my mind!!!! Super productive snorkelling and diving. The hotel is a marvel, pure essence Six Senses: slow travel, wellness, very committed to the environment and the comforts of a luxury hotel. Delicious gastronomy in all its restaurants. The attention of the staff is exquisite and personalised, they take care of every detail. Our GEM, Abdulla, made our experience at Laamu extraordinary. The whole team are a family and make you feel at home from the waiters, chefs to Tan, sales manager or Marteyne, Laamu's general manager. There are many alternatives to choose from in the Maldives, we got to know Laamu thanks to the travel agency Bontur (Madrid) and it was an excellent decision.
