The Wigwam

Stayed 4 days and room was only cleaned once. pool was over crowed. No-one enforced rules, small children in hot tub. Dining was fine. Golf course was in exceptional shape, played early in morning, played 12 holes in an hour and 20 minutes, then they sent out a women's event in a shotgun and it took 2 1/2 hours to play last 6 holes.

The resort grounds is beautiful. The staff are very friendly. The restaurant food was very good. The bed was comfortable. The room needs an update and maintained. The air conditioner was not cooling when we arrived to the room. It was over 100 degrees outside. So, we waited 2 hours before contacting the resort thinking it would cool. When I sent a text message, the maintenance engineer was prompt and resolved the issue. The filter just needed to be cleaned. It was not allowing air to flow. The shower leaked water so we used two towels to sop up the water each morning. The safe was low battery so it did not work. The phone was missing the receiver. On the day of checkout the smoke detector started flashing at 3am. It did not go off but we could not go back to sleep expecting it to alarm at any time. All of this was shared at check out at 6am. No one ever followed up.

The Wigwam is a great place to stay. The staff are wonderful, the venue is beautiful, and overall it's a great destination.

My second year coming back to Wigwam for a conference. Great service, comfortable accomadations, good food and beautiful property.

We picked this hotel mostly for its proximity to Camelback and Surprise stadiums. Getting to other venues or stadiums or attractions involves a hourish schlep each way. So this location was either a 10 or a 3, depending on the day. Our room in the Oasis pool area had clearly been renovated inside not that long ago, so that was good, pleasing, comfortable. Except for what I guess was an original tile floor in the bathroom? I like the concept, but the floor mostly looked kind of beat up and dirty even when clean. The room was quite large, which was appreciated. Lots of room to spread out in the bathroom, too. Housekeeping did a fine job, even showing up later in the afternoon to refresh the room after I had said it was fine to skip us that day. The Wigwam Bar and Litchfield's were both excellent. Good food, good service. Very good a.m. coffee! We were in a downstairs room. We could hear people walking above us, but it wasn't terrible. We had people next door and upstairs and never heard their voices unless they were outside. We were able to park near the room until the hotel got busier toward the end of the week. Valet service was friendly and easy and, surprisingly, free. Every staff person we encountered was friendly and helpful. Free wifi, unsecured/no password, worked fine. The only bad news is that this resort is very much showing its age. The exteriors of the buildings, in particular, do not look great. Some maintenance issues around the Oasis pool really ought to be addressed, too.
