From art installations to a poet in residence, the Andaz London Liverpool Street captures London's exuberantly creative spirit. This classic Victorian hotel turned hip urban retreat is "a style coup for designer Sir Terence Conran," raves Fodor's in August 2005. Bedrooms are chic and sleek at this Luxury Resorts affiliate, while dining is some of the best in the city at Aurora, shimmering beneath a stained glass dome, and the Fishmarket with its seductive Champagne bar.

Overall it did not feel like a 5-star experience, beyond the very impressive lobby. The room was very standard, although clean and well-decorated, and got little natural light. It got hot at night, and the window could not be opened; air con was available but I struggle to sleep with it on. Two out of the four nights of my stay, there was very loud music coming from one of the function rooms. On one evening in particular, this was going on all evening until almost midnight and was loud enough that the window frame of my room was shaking, and I had the pleasure of hearing drunk people sing along to Abba and Christmas songs when I was trying to sleep. I complained about this on checkout and was given a rather insincere apology. I thought it was ridiculous that at well over £500 per night (thankfully paid by my company and not me) breakfast was not even included and cost an additional £25 per day - and that was the "discounted" rate. The main purpose of a hotel is a place to sleep comfortably, and it barely even met that requirement. On the plus side: great location, very good gym, and the happy hour was nice although I'd choose free breakfast over free booze.

We all had a great time and truly enjoyed the experience. A big thank you to Kawser for making this booking possible, and to Joanna, for all her help and excellent communication throughout. I would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff who looked after us, Rishita, Aziza, Aisha, and Chef Rishi. Their exceptional service really made the experience worthwhile. We will definitely be returning again very soon. 10/10

Location is great- right above liverpool street station. Can walk to Spitalfields, and plenty of other local spots. Less touristy around here! For the hotel itself, rooms are a bit small/bland- just grey and black. Good bathroom, and the service is fantastic. For a 5 star in london, I guess I was hoping for something a bit more extraordinary... especially for the price. Noise level as well- some sort of alarm in the hotel or outside was going off around 2-3 AM, and I did hear that through the walls/windows. Rooms were clean, no problems there. If I were to return to london, would likely try to find a more exciting hotel experience for this price point.

I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience at the Andaz London Liverpool Street was so astonishingly poor that I feel obligated to warn others. Our stay was derailed almost immediately when our shower flooded the entire bathroom, forcing us to contact the front desk repeatedly before anyone took action. The staff’s response could best be described as apathetic—no urgency, no concern, and certainly no acknowledgment that this was a legitimate maintenance and safety issue in a supposedly high-end hotel. We were told a manager would follow up with us. No one ever did. Not a call, not a note, not even an apology. The situation somehow worsened when maintenance eventually arrived—while we were still in the room—to unclog the drain. The process released a putrid, stomach-turning smell that filled the entire room and lingered until the following morning. Being forced to sit through that was unacceptable and, frankly, unprofessional. As if that weren’t enough, our mini-bar was never restocked at any point during our stay, despite being advertised as part of the room experience. For a hotel that markets itself as upscale and service-oriented, this stay was an absolute failure from start to finish. Poor maintenance, indifferent staff, and a complete lack of accountability made this one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in London—or anywhere. I cannot recommend the Andaz London Liverpool Street, and I sincerely hope management takes a hard look at how they handle guest concerns, because right now, the bar is shockingly low.
